The ability to set "favorite weapons" in load out to only be able to auto loot the guns we like instead of having to search for them.
whole point of a battle royale is the loot is randomized. half the looting is based on your luck and location. you're better off learning the quirks of each gun and learning how to best use them, cause unfortunately you're not going to find the gun you absolutely want every time
I like the idea of favorite weapons affecting auto-loot behavior,
but it might get really complicated in practice.
For example:
which weapon slot should be replaced?
should high-value attachments be considered?
Totally, I disagree.
I think there might be a small misunderstanding here.
The suggestion wasn’t about starting with a preferred weapon
or removing loot randomness.
It was more about auto-loot behaviors.
Not to affect how the game randomly spreads out the loot but which is picked up when you walk over it, I've had the game switch out my weapons after walking over other weapons or searching players drops.
which weapon slot should be replaced?
A: any weapon that's not marked as a favorite already in a weapon slot (if both the slots are filled with favorite will not switch/do manually)
should high-value attachments be considered?
A: the game already equips higher tier attachments to guns, so this is normal
the game doesnt switch out your weapons. there is a setting that lets you disable auto-swap when you auto-loot your 2nd gun
once you have two guns, it doesn't autoloot anymore guns and swaps them - you need to swap manually
Yes
If both weapon slots are filled with non-favorite weapons,
how does the system know which one I actually want to keep?
The game can’t know which weapon I’m currently relying on,
or whether I want to avoid switching at all due to context,
for example, while engaged in combat.
An automatic swap in that situation can easily result in an unintended loss.
If I’m running a sniper rifle with high-value attachments
but don’t mark it as a favorite, the system could still force an auto-swap to an AR.
In that case, I’d lose a large amount of effective attachment value,
since AR and sniper platforms share very few compatible parts.
With a system like this in place, these situations would come up
every time I pass by a favorite weapon.
In practice, that would likely lead me to disable the feature entirely.
I like the idea itself, but I’m not convinced the implementation
would produce smooth or consistent results.
