#I got rid of the mask traces when using <segment:face>

Hello Swarmies ! I have started again using segment:face,X,Y with the arrival of Z-image as I am not a big fan of the faces this -very good- model generates. I always loved the faces of an old SDXL model called "Vibrant Horizon" and thought I would include in the prompt the segmentation syntax and activate the Segment Refining, the Segment Param Overrides and the specific sampler/scheduler in the Auto Segment Refinement prompt.

But whatever parameters I tried, tweaking all the variables in the Segment Refining section related to the mask, I always got these horrible mask traces on the final image. It has probably happened to you before as well.

Then I had the idea to make a preset with my favorite SDXL model, dedicated to face segmenting and face segmenting only. I set my Z-image generated output as initial image, set denoise to 0 (Image Creativity = 0), to prevent the model from changing anything else in the image, and entered only the segment:face,X,Y in the positive prompt.

TADA IT WORKED ! No more traces left by the mask or the box (if you prefer yolo, my favorite one for example is a very specific yolo male face model called Anzhcs ManFace) and I already tested it on 15 different initial images. of course, it forces you to include a second step in your workflow, you cannot anymore segment in the same run as you generate your image. But is worth doing it.

In my specific SDXL user case, the different architectures between Z-image and Vibrant Horizon XL probably explain why the segment function left traces. But if it happens for you with another model, you know now how to get rid of it : just make a separate Face segment preset with your favorite model which you'll use for the segmentation. --> watch monkeys answer, it seems that setting the Color Correction parameter in Advanced Sampling to Linear or Linear2 got the issue resolved as well. And you don't need a second run anymore !

Should I prefer "Linear" or "Linear 2" ?

@dull portal both Linear and Linear2 seems to work ! I can do the face segmentation in the same run ! you are a genious , thanks ! Just telle me what is the difference between Linear and Linear 2 if you don't mind
