you have 5 casts of Ghostly Strike in a 5 minute fight. This should be way more.. almost 100% uptime
there's the "don't use ambush as KIR ever" thing that was already noted
you're also not adjusting your button pressing speed to speed up when Adrenaline Rush is active; this is fine because the game doesn't say anywhere, but adrenaline rush reduces your GCD by up to 0.2s at 25% haste (so you want 19% haste from gear)
Huge like macro overview of outlaw is, you're mashing your buttons like they owe you money
the whole time
you do pretty well on the speed sometimes but not others, which is fair enough but it's really important to press fast enough
there's a reason the one-button rotation is so bad for outlaw, and it's not because the actual rotation logic is absurdly bad or anything
Here's my bars.
Your UI is ok
It's just how fast you're pressing your keyboard keys
for some of the fight
oh god i see why you aren't pressing KS
Didn't notice that
oh it's there
on 0
bind ghostly strike and killing spree to easily pressable keys
I use modified luxthos weakauras i made myself, so I know from experience that they're fine enough
there also seem to be significant periods on fractilus where you just aren't pressing any buttons (the two large ones are 20s and 28s respectively)
this would be bad as any spec but it's realllly bad as outlaw because of how the spec is an engine that you try to keep running while it tries to explode on you
tbc i'm not trying to make you feel bad
getting log reviews sucks because it feels like you're perma getting criticised and i know this from personal experience
It's all constructive, we do want to help
I think more than anything else this downtime is the issue
on fractilus you can have effectively 100% uptime
I wonder if they run back for the walls
maybe you lose a gcd from a knockback or whatever but you can generally avoid that as well
The good news here is that this downtime issue isn't you being bad at outlaw, and you'd have to fix this for any spec you play
Are you using modifiers like shift/alt to help you press more abilities?
Yeah. I think my Dad fucked around with the keybindings, so...
As for downtime, it's due to walls.
Walls don't cause that much downtime
You can just stand in the column, you don't have to run back
I don't?
You don't. You get hit by the wall and then immediately grapple back in and that's how the fight is intended to be played afaik
But also in general for mechanics, you basically only want to leave the boss for as short a time as possible
If you get a debuff that will leave a lava puddle on your location in 10 seconds, you grapple out at 1s and then back in instantly, instead of spending 10s not hitting the boss
This is hard and takes practice, but it's a key mindset shift
What would y'all recommend for Ghostly Strike?
Whatever works for you, when I played keyboard I tried to keep all my binds on 1-5/r/f/g/v + shift/ctrl/alt
Yes
I make my stealth bar identical to my normal bar
Aight. Should I keep or remove Slice And Dice?
Remove, you never press it
Done.
Okay. I'mma try out the training dummy in Stormwind, see if I can't get good DPS in a minute.
Here's me post bringing the dummy down to 0 HP. Is this good or bad?
How does it compare to your sim with no buffs?
I don't know how to do a sim.
That's with all raid buffs, so off the top of my head if you don't want to sim again with them turned off, I'd say see if you can do 3 million dps single target on the dummy over 5 minutes as a goal?
How do I turn them off?
I'm so sorry for being so dense, by the way. I didn't realize there'd be this much effort into figuring out how to make me NOT suck.
Under "raid buff presets" on the quick sim page, click "no buffs"
dw
Everyone has to learn these basics at some point
The sim value doesn't matter here, you just want to use it as kinda a goal for what your dps could be if you did everything right
Well, the DPS meter I have says I did nine-number damage, so... I don't know if I did good or not.
I have the meter set to Current Fight, so I don't know if that's the correct data to use or not.
I recommend setting it to shorten the number instead of showing all the digits if you can
And most people only care about dps, so you'd be looking at 1.76m dps
So still a million DPS?
yes, but you'll get there with practice now that you know a lot of the problems
I hope so.
Also, question. Apparently this profile's been using Recount. Is that still a good choice or should I go to "Details", whatever that is?
Details is a lot more feature rich version of recount.
Should I use it over Recount?
I think so, but it's not super important atm
Just putting in the time on the dummies to get comfortable with the way playing the spec feels is more important
How much haste do you have in your gear setup?
You want 19%, but need at least 18% to play the keep it rolling build
Outlaw is probably one of the harder specs to play right now, it's gonna take time and practice to get comfortable
Nah, fuck it. I'll just pay for a carry at this rate.
The pug I'm in kept dying over and over on Phase 1 Hero Dimensius.
Dimen is probably one of the worst fights for outlaw
You lose all of your buffs in the downtime
So what do I do? I can't show y'all how bad I suck, it seems.
A lot of people just switched to sub for the last two bosses of raid and play outlaw in M+.
There's nothing wrong with playing law on every boss, you just need to put in the time to be able to do your rotation on almost autopilot so you can do mechanics at the same time.
Hey, so question for Slice And Dice. Why do I not want it?
