Like you can get orange/pink parses with 605 ilvl and in fact it is very doable, but the logs and parses litetally compare your 605 char to people wearing 620+ gear

Because it's not actually comparing people with similar dps potential (simdps), but rather people with similar ilvl
This could mean that one person has the ultimate best trinkets in the world and you have the worst trinkets
But the same ilvl
Or has the best enchants, best embellishments and you don't have any of that
Or like 9 sockets and you have 0
There's so many downfalls in ilvl parses
