from the player perspective, more options = gud. But I can see why they decided to split them, also lets them focus on building a dif experience for poe 2
cause poe 2 would've just ended up being poe1 with better graphics, this way they can continue to improve their engine for both games and broaden their net

I suspect shraed endgame ultimately limited their own design space for poe2, I think Rory said that the moment they abandoned that plan they started being more bold with abilities and make them cooler, more focused on poe2 state not eventual shared one
