I had been following Last Epoch for several months now. I watched every stream, read every blog post release. I even introduced a theorycrafting exercise in job interviews. This was me, you probably heard of it. I made a linkedin post on the subject which garnered over 200k views, this is not to brag but to say it's very likely you've heard of this. I'm not an influencer by any means but when you have high impact ideas, they have a way to spread on their own. Anyways, this is how strongly I believe in Last Epoch.

So when I heard the game was finally releasing, I moved heaven and earth to free up one hour of my time to play today. This is what I'd been waiting for for months. I had to hire an interim CEO. You can't just hire a CEO like a contractor for a day or an hour. You have to get them up to speed. This took me months. It was also very risky because I gave them sensitive information. So I have to keep this backup CEO on payroll for as long as this information is relevant. I'll put them to contribution on linkedin for the time being. I had to take a loan from a VC firm to afford this, and lost around 20% stakes in my companies because of this. As a result, my wife installed bumble and she's been shit-talking me behind my back to my children. My whole life is crashing down and I can't even play!!!

LE really does a lot of things right, but I think crafting is a bit too strong or frontloaded I guess

items certainly could use some love, albeit that might be me coming from poe where items are so multilayered and it's hella fun

just to give an example, i was going for a physical swipe build leveling this druid, then i got 2 uniques, 1 that makes all my elemental melee attacks swing faster, give ward, and do more damage, and one ring that gives all my elemental skills 30% chance to poison and +30% poison damage

so with only 1 change of ability skilltree with no punishment

im able to fully use those 2 unique items

without deviating from my final goal

also: the most important part for an arpg

the game doesnt punish you for having alts lol

it actually gives you shortcuts to skip leveling on ur alts when u get items and keys to do skips

Yeah, this whole launch debacle has convinced me that leaving D4 to play this game was a mistake. I'm reinstalling Diablo right now. Time and time again it is proven that only Blizzard is capable of handling a game of this scale and I don't think I'll be stepping outside my comfort zone again seeing as D4 is a 9.5/10 anyway. I took half a day off from the mines last night to play on release, ended up losing track of time in the queue and missed my next shift. I've been let go from a prestigious Coal Drill Bit Wiper's assistant position and now my e-bike is in danger of being repossessed. Having a smoke now to try to calm my nerves, hands are literally shaking. My Grandfather smoked his whole life. I was about 10 years old when my mother said to him, 'If you ever want to see your grandchildren graduate, you have to stop immediately.'. Tears welled up in his eyes when he realized what exactly was at stake. He gave it up immediately. Three years later he died of lung cancer. It was really sad and destroyed me. Yeah when you go to the library and get the tome if you give it to the gambler he gives you that neck. If you give it to Ezra or Erza or whatever his name is he gives you unique gloves that are a lot better.
