Im not the best to look at logs but im sure someone else can help you. Looking on Magmorax HC. What i do see is that your Damage Done is wrong. Gloomblade is your highest dealing damage ability. It should be Evis, secret tech then gloom

Leading me to belive that you dont spend Combo Points well enough

This is from one of the top logged hc kills on mag

And they killed the boss faster

Generally you want to spend combo points on 6 or 7 combo points

#

In shadow dance window you want to do as following (assuming you play first dance talent).
Shadow Dance - Gloomblade - Evis - Shadowstrike to 6/7CP, Secret Technique - vanish - shadowstrike - symbols - evis

If i where you i would have looked at other HC logs compare them to yours and read through the subtlety-faq because there is a lot of rotational issues.

looking at your latest magmorax normal kill. I see your opener is wrong. Shuriken storm is to apply find weakness (increases eviscerate damage) so the circled gloomblade is not needed. Your rotation in shadowdance (with first dance) should be SD > gloomblade > evis > shadowstrike > secret tech > shadowstrike > evis with 5+ combo points or shadowstrike again if you have 4 or less

outside of shadowdance, always try and use evis at 6 or 7 combo points. Inside shadowdance, its 5+

Your 2nd (and i think most of your shadowdances) are like this. First off, only use tea on the opener shadowdance to get it on cooldown. From that point on, only use tea when you need 100+ energy to keep casting.

Same thing with the opener rotation here as well, SD > gloom > evis > shadowstrike > secret tech > shadowstrike > evis at 5+ cp or shadowstrike at 4 or less cp.

you used tea 5 times in the fight, you wasted 220 energy from it (320 but the first tea usage doesnt count)

only use shuriken storm at the start, this log as 5 uses so avoid that

like you said, alot of it is practice so just use tea when you need energy after the first use of tea on opener

M+ is a bit different. A lot of targets makes mastery value increase so using tea on shadowdance with a lot of mobs is sometimes worth it

yeah if you see symbols about to come off cooldown and shadowdance is like 5 second before coming off cd, You are safe to use symbols when you secret tech during shadowdance

Also, vanish shadowstrike should always be used after your secret tech inside shadowdance. Unless you need it for movement
