#Diablo IV

but without a purpose to kill white mobs, you just skip all packs until you see an elite, blow it up, keep skipping
I suppose but I prefer knowing what's gonna drop shit
I kill everything cos I'm a freak
defeats the purpose of an aRPG if only chests/elites drop anything
huh?
thats not
how d4 is gonna work
you just do nightmare dungeons
which are still
the same dungeons
just with mods and shit
add soul counter to them
and objectives
and puzzles
would be best way to deal with it
yeah well
we know what the endgame is like tho
and so far i havent seen anything about a bar that fills and rift guardians and shit
theres like
one dungeon objective obviously
I've done bar fill quests
that has you gather ectoplasm shit
but those still exclusively drop from elites?
killing white mobs doesnt give any progress for the ectoplasm objective
i really dislike the go to this side of the dungeon collect place in mid then go to other side come back and place
yeah itd be nice if it would loop around
the flow is so bad people wanna game straight esp in dungies
makes it feel bad yeah a loop would be fine
or even if the items were just randomly in places
ill say this though, ive encountered only like a single one of these now
i think most of them have like
random spawns
so in each dungeon theres like 3 different locations on each side where they can be
ive had one basically in the room right next to the door
while the second one was on the furthest away point
öä----------------------wsaaa
sorry, cat
literally already did
but ya know, discussing it here
and it seems like theyre kind set on this design
of "elites > all"
cause theres multiple mechanics in the game that are specifically designed around it, so its a very deliberate design
im a little sad its def not a d3 feel but i do like the game where its goin and the mmo aspects are cool
i will play it heavily
yeah ill basically reserve judgment
until i see the actual unique effects
and how theyll affect build diversity
I agree on the dungeons, however I did feel that most of the areas with the quest objective was a big loop. So you didn't need to run back through the area you already cleared but rather could keep fighting mobs. Also felt that spawns were a bit dynamic.
Though they did feel kinda samey. Hopefully it's because we've just been in one biome
I mostly agree with what you guys are saying but I think I'm overall optimistic on them fixing stuff up
I do however think it is good that mainly elites drop items. PoE historically kinda had the issue where it was really rewarding to build to mainly kill trash mobs and ignore all bosses etc. Don't think that's super healthy for the game. D3 also had that for a period
Idm this but they need arrows
But I did have a ton of fun, haha.
It sucks when its like "Oh shit I missed this thing"
They should make it more obvious
Same with the emote wheel having a "leave dungeon" option
Which is never explained
It should be said somewhere that you can do this :p
Also, like 95% of the quests are "follow an arrow". But there's 5% that's things like riddles/read the quest text for what to do. Which imo is better but it felt like the game trained me to follow arrows and then just left me without guidance for those minority of quests
Yeah, the leave dungeon emote was weird to find. Though I did find that you could teleport through the map to the entrance early.
It was explained in the tutorial are in D3, should been in D4 too
Yeah
The gameplay is really fun for me
I've said "I've seen what I've wanted to" and then I get an urge to try a diff build
and then end up going back to Flurry :p
im actually having a lot of fun with d3, going to see how this one goes next week
Damn... The ARPG group of streamers are shitting on D4. But I think its the best ARPG ever made. So much more chill then PoE, Way better then D3 and is familiar unlike last epoch and other titles. Also I can play with my Dad who is chilling at his house on console. W game!
REAL
Blason always with the voice of the people
Wait a second

Lol ya
surprised they didnt add a small icon on the mini map to indicate dungeon and allow you to right click it to see a small menu to leave
like wow
but then a lot of the UI is console based so, that might be why
did you do the quest where you revived that chick’s mother
i swear i got to that point and the quest disappeared
Unironic 10/10 review
Will try next weekend
I'm excited
Till then I have darkest dungeon
First dungeon trying whirlwind

Everybodu is saying that barb is terrible
Who cares how it plays at 25
But alk has only played barb all beta and hes been doing really well with it
Multiple builds
For all we know at max it is legit busted
It is also insane at max lvl
idk
theres no way sorc falls off defensively or on singletarget
with the iceblades shit
although there does seem to be a hardcap
on how many you can have out
Beta ends at 3 est right?
1hr38mins
i wonder if the zones ahead of act 1 will have better rewards in the zone completion track
or the lilith altars feels like +2 dex w.e too small esp in a game with potential scaling like crazy for endgame almost feels like nothin
campaign stuff is always small vs endgame systems
its like a taster/entry level thing
true but like L ark did the zone thing really well with it having big end game implications
no shot 1m individual unique users played first beta
Is that a lot?
id guess they mean characters
but yeah
i wouldnt be surprised if the game hit over a million presales either
but yeah i guess it goes to show that even if you completely fumble the release of the previous game like d3, have an abysmal mobile game release, have a bunch of scandals going on about your workplace environment etc., and pretty terrible looking pre-beta footage
but you can still get a few million copies sold of a key franchise like diablo just in pre-orders 🙂
The game is also quite fun even if it's rough around the edges
beta definitely exceeded my somewhat low expectations
I think the game has issues, and being shallow is one of the issues, but I really do think the league mechanics will make the game much more in depth
Even just the 2 runeword systems add a lot
And then how sets end up being implemented could be a huge one too
i don't think they mind being shallow
character progression/build systems dont really add a lot of longevity if theyre seasonal, changes to the way you engage with the content itself do. thats why most character prog systems in poe are permanent
it is kinda their thing
I don't think it's that insane of a statement to make that "the good league mechanics will get baked into core"
I'm gonna assume that runewords are going to be a "league mechanic" where a new NPC is introduced who teached you how the system works, they will only be accessable for seasonal characters, and then will be baked into the core game
yeah but
thats only part of what poe does and does well. just character progression doesnt add new or puts a different spin on existing content, and without that, youre running into teh same issue d3 did
endless powercreep that can only be solved on a "hp bloat" level, not a mechanical one
so previously interesting encounters no longer are interesting because you outpower them. poe has that issue too, but not to the same extent
Every single video game has power creep, it's literally impossible to avoid
to me, runewords arent a league mechanic. its a powergain you should get by engaging with a league mechanic, i.e. unique enemies to that league, that drop runes. and then you bake it into core by having them drop from all sources when league is done
Hearthstone tried to "tackle the power creep issue" but all that happens is you introduce new systems, that are equal to, or worse than what already exists, so nobody cares or even bothers
obviously it being the first league, they wont really have that issue just yet
How would runewords not be a league mechanic, how would it be any different than something like... sentinel, if it were to be baked into core
but imo it was one of the biggest weaknesses of d3 whenever a new ladder brought some new character progression systems with them
"Introduce a new crafting system, make it super common so everybody gets to engage with it, rebalance it and then bake it into core"
the coregame didnt change at all and so it was fun for a while to fiddle around with the new progression system, but the game was still the same at the end of the day
Well yeah thats because there was no variation in end game
It was just "go to grifts"
IT gave you paragon levels, gen levels, highets amount of total legendaries, etc
There was nothing else to do
well yeah, but if they do league mechanics, they need to add that, thats what i mean
new enemy types or events or encounter mechanics/endgame bosses etc.
that you can test those new systems at
Based on the fact they said they want the system to be "larger than anything done with d3 seasons" i have high hopes
They said first season would be 2-3 weeks after launch
so just have to see the expected scope for them
yeah, i just hope that means theyre gonna actively mess with the enemies you fight, and not just the player character themselves. based on both d2 and d3, i dont have high hopes on that one, cause its something they have no experience with other than hp bloating
We think it is important that players see that the game is changing in meaningful ways. Each season will be released with a fresh new gameplay feature and questline that introduces new challenges, mysteries, and possibilities into the level-up experience. This is something players should begin to experience before the end of their first hour of play. One of the benefits of our seasonal direction is that it enables fun, new ways to play throughout your character’s progression.
Each Season's new questline will reveal more of the world of Sanctuary and your character’s place in it. Here, we get an opportunity to introduce new characters or revisit old ones while exploring the lore and content of the season.
With each season we’ll be looking into ways to simply improve the player experience. As a live product, we intend to hold Diablo IV to an exceedingly high standard. We are here to build a live game that we can be proud of, and the best way to do that is by engaging our players directly.
Based on feedback that we receive, the team will identify quality-of-life features and polish work that can be done to improve the overall game experience and invite the community to vote upon their priority. While we cannot always flip a switch to tackle something immediately, you can rest assured that we will be active in improving the quality of the game experience for years to come.
If u wanna read
idk, this isnt assuring me in the slightest, if anything it confirms that their biggest prio is on the player experience through their interactions with the story, world, items and progression systems. none of that has anything to do with new bosses etc.
obviously we will find out, its just a concern im having, same as ive had it with last epoch
its why every poe league that doesnt have new bossfights is already an immediatey "less interested". just smth i like doing, fighting new mobtypes, mechanics and bosses. also why i think synthesis was the best league, cuz it had 5 new bosses
If they dont add bosses in seasons, they probably add them in the expansions
But yeah idk
I'm optimistic
the gameplay alone will keep me hooked for 4 seasons probs trying out each class each season
game just feels modern and cool
except for the UI
enough for me
but yeah im lookign forward to it for sure
we barely scratched the surface in beta this week and its looking like it has a lot of potential
will depend on how nuts they are going with unique/sacred items
and how build defining they will be, but they said thats where most of it is coming from
I don't have good Internet atm so can't watch videos. Is there any endgame content in the beta?
no
Also is the gear the same as in d3 where you only wear legendaries or do rares have a place?
it stops at the end of the 2nd of 7 acts
Oh then nvm
rares have a place as crafting bases if they roll well, but we dont know
cuz we havent seen the 3 highest tiers of items yet
Probably hard to answer
cuz its beta
How does the crafting work? Is it targeted or just rng?
Isnt it more like prologue + act 1
i could write
7 paragraphs on it now
and end it with
oh, i thought the campaign quests literally said "act 1" on them
"its beta and weve barely scratched the surface"
psure if you want specific info on specific systems, just googling them would be easier
There's the d3 "crafting" system still here, and then there's a system where you can take legendary powers and place them onto rare items
The best items in the game seem to be rares with imprints
Oh cool. That's what I wanted to know! Sorry am like turbo tired lol
Lol ur fine
It's more complicated ofc but at a base level that seems to be the idea
dunno
im guessing
that wont be an endgame thing anymore
considering that rares have 3 mods max
and uniques already have 4
and we have
3 more tiers of items
U can only have 1 unique on at a time
What?
Unique is a tier above legendary that have more transformative effects
Only. 1unqiue can be equipped at a time
Ohhh like the stuff from last season in d3?
Uh no
Uniques are 1 equip limit
At least that's what everything I've read has said
Gotcha
and i dont think we know yet what sacred items are gonna be, or ancestral items
but yeah, afaik unique items were just max-roll legendaries
but with special/build defining mods
and then sacres/ancestral, no fucking clue
but id assume that they have 5mods
and then rares are mostly gonna be garbage
Perhaps
Honestly I never understood why people are so against legendaries being baseline gear like it is in D3
I think the thing that sucked about D3 was sets
I think the LON/LOD playstyle was super fun
i dont get it either, especially with the enchanter allowing you to reroll stats
it was an issue in d3
when they added ancient and primal gear
and the odds of getting a well rolled version of those was getting insanely low
idk, its a flavor thing, legendary gear not so legendary when it is baseline
i like older d3 (1.0.4, the patch they released paragon levels) that had a good mix of rare/leggos/sets
yeah the terminology is a bit weird when
legendary is closer to commons in rarity
than the highest tier 😄
cause you now have
common
uncommon
rare
legendary
unique
sacred
ancestral
just a bit much imo, idk
ya
i mean is there gonna be a different color light beam for each thing
when it drops 😄
idk
maybe legendaries just stop dropping at osme point? hard to say
since theyre techncially unnecessary
due to aspect crafting
does gear have levels or does it scale?
and did anyone find any gear that gave + to skill for other classes. like enigma
its beta
with a single act
its like d3, each armor slot can have +skills for specific types of skills, but you cant "stack" it
only thing that you can stack is a single skill increase and all skills belonging to a certain type
but again
its like
act1 in d2, so who knows what waits at the top end
its not like poe is going away when this game comes out, it will be fun in its own different way and thats cool
I like that d4 is trying to do something different than just trying to out compete poe
excited for the trade market cause finding good yellow bases should net some nice currency
Yea I did quite a bit of farming at 25 and its hard to find something really well rolled
That wont happen
The stuff that is + to skills is only for your class
did they say anything about adding more nodes in the skill tree ? or adding bigger effects on the paragon system ?
Have we even seen what the paragon nodes give yet
Ive only seen 2 and they seem pretty impactful
i hope they are impactfull tbh , because as far as the skill tree goes we have less options than d3 which is insane
no what you see is what you get
the only thing is the paragon board
damn ... unlucky
And you'll beeline for the notable on the board as well. With how they're designed, they don't really offer a lot of customization
If you play a fire build, you'll pick the fire board to grab the notable asp, because every other one is likely not worth it
they rly took d3 runes slapped a tree skin on it and called it a day uh
what a shame
https://lothrik.github.io/diablo4-build-calc/database/ datamined paragon and talent tree stuffs
:
When you kill a Poisoned enemy, they leave a pool of poison on the ground that deals {c_number}[{SF_0}*100|%|]{/c} of that enemy's Maximum Life as Poison damage over {c_number}{SF_1}{/c} seconds.```
big if true, I love poison
bleed and poison are not good either
but maybe there was some builds i didnt know about
Yeah, the only use for poison traps I saw was for cdr, the damage at 25 was not great. Knockdown was cool I guess
we have to wait and see , nothing in there ( for rogue atleast ) seems incredibly exciting , and if we have enough paragon levels to get almost every node there isnt rly a point , like in d3 after 800 paragon you have everything maxed anyway so who cares
There is a limit
Good to know , do you know rougly what is the limit or is it up in the air right now
I think it's 50
Depending on the total of nodes this can lead to cool customisation honestly
there is hope
poison bomb sanguine build LOGIN
Kinda interesting thing is that if you miss picking up a legendary item then you will have it "mailed" to your stash
So that's likely the same for all higher tier items you'd want
So making DoT builds where you just run past all and let them die behind for some legendary farming build could still be viable without needing to wait for mobs to die
A twisting blade version of this would be sick
With scaled shadow imbue on dash. So you dash through with shadow imbue, dot one. Chain explosion on death
im probably going to play ranged rogue
because melee in blizzard games L
ive also been blasting DH in diablo 3 and pushed with 4 sets of gear
I was very pleasantly surprised by playing hybrid.
Played the Energetic stab? Or whatever the one giving energy.
Then puncture shot with the legendary that makes pierce split the shot.
And shadow imbue on puncture.
Then just more lucky shot stuff
Compared to pure range, it builds CP super fast, never energy starved. Just stab x3 and puncture. Amazing damage and also amazing aoe clear
(at level 25 :P)
will be fun figuring out builds before the 1st season
Yea. Have a ton of my old friends coming back. So we will be playing 100% blind and so. So will be some time before I'll go for any sort of leaderboard pushing
Did you mess around at all with ranged + the other imbuements? Cold was probably the least impactful for me with melee
I did a bit of poison, because I felt it might be good on the world boss
But shadow just felt so good
Puncture shot felt soo good
true melee always is just a little behind ranged in arpgs

quin is sick in the head
nearly 2 fucking HOURS LMFAO
imagine not watching kripp react to quin react to kripps video live
LMAO
@maiden anvil man druid players next weekend wont be happy
when they realize they cant get their specialization

We can preload today right
Do you genuinely enjoy Quin content
yeah that tracks
I watched 20 minutes of the kripp video and it just made me hype idk
I genuinely think blizzard took half the things out and made an old school demo and called it beta
Im hype to try it tho
Ok that's some big copium

It's just wait and see how the paragon boards work they could be cool
you pick one, you get points, you assing them. most of the points are pointless dogshit, some are really big, but since each board is designed for a specific "playstyle" its not nearly as build defining as youd think it is
Plan your Diablo 4 character using this build calculator!
you can check out the paragon boards there
if you play a fire build, youll pick the one board that has stuff for fire damage etc.
like
2 of the boards will be useful, probably
rest will be useless
for each build, i mean
SURELY they made us play on an old build and the actual game will be better
endgame beta was
basically the same
dungeons have not changed at all
crushing my dreams right there uh , oh well , it is what it is
it seems the only change theyre looking/able to make short term
is having mobs spawn between an objective and a door if it includes some backtracking
it will, yes
and it wont change the fact that you have no reason to engage with these mobs
concealment/stealth stonks rising
Miniscule thing I noted was the skill is called Concealment but the skill twigs and the build database all reference stealth
are there goin to be item sets in d4?
not so far, no
no as in none shown or no as in they said not yet
theres no sets on release
its all about combining aspects, unique powers and paragon board powers with the skilltree to make builds
nice
I think so too. At the very least, https://lothrik.github.io/diablo4-build-calc/database/ doesn't have any reference to sets
Bro d2 sets were ass
Name an actual used set, even after the buffs
And you can’t say tals
No one uses immortal king wdym
But like sets aren't gigs end game
The only barbs are horkers
That's a good thing
With gold and magic find
i mean
you cant really compare
d2r hyper minmaxing
to og d2
many people used the sets
in og d2, even if it wasnt optimal
overall set design in d2 was infinitely better than d3, and d2 sets served as a good entry to optimizing gear
esp in og d2 when there was no runes yet
Fair and agreeable
alright quin is kinda based
i thought i hated him but the first 5 minutes of his hour long review are "this is a totally new game type, dont compare it to poe or d3. think about how much objective fun you're having"
hell yeah
paid actor
mmmmmmm
if i myself am having fun thats the definition of subjective. i need someone else to tell me if its fun or not, because then my own feelings dont get in the way and i have an objective point of view.
oh he didnt use the word objective i might have swung that in there
paraphrased
but fun can be both objective and subjective. an opinion and also a noun
maybe? might be a point of view thing
It is true though for sure, d4 feels a lot more like lost ark than a traditional ARPG which I think is a good thing
Better than trying to compete with the monolith that is poe, and the nostalgia dick riding of d2
I'll say what I've said before
The game is quite fun, the gameplay is solid the progression felt alright, I think the end game systems could use some tweaks but I have high hopes for seasons to slowly fill in the gaps that are missing
The ui needs some work though
Skill tree needs to be zoomed out more, minimap needs to be zoomed out more, needs to be a map overlay option
can you be a little girl in d4 tho???
No and that's why it's better than LA
genuine question
whats wrong with the ui
ive seen a few complaints about it but idk what specifically
it has some eeeh questionable decisions ux wise
Uh a lot
it's designed with console in mind
Gear tool tips require you to scroll
so it's really clunky
like asmongold said
I hope consoles die so they can make good games on pc without dogshit compromises
Lives of based
do we rly need this
or any 'keybind indicator' really
it is for console brains so their 2 neurons dont move too much
same reason as when you open stats you have to go through herbs
cuz on console the skillbar is on the left side of the screen so you can couch co-op with split screen
so they forced the chat to the right

fair
Game is fun tho
I called it

yeah i remember them saying they should be much rarer
which i do like a lot HOWEVER
the scaling wouldve been fuckin horrendous based on how its setup currently
if it WAS harder to get legendaries
so many classes do no dam and u cant even take util
even d4 devs understand the value of having stuff available so we can test it
yes, in 9 hours

Alkaizer is in
ayaya
interesting last weeks character carried over
Me too
YEP
I think I'll go execute node vs corpse regen, thinking blight + corpse explode could be fun
uncapped fps on the queue screen
fully expected a giga queue when id get home from the gym
wasnt disappointed
its going a bit faster than the estimate but still 64 min left
altars didn't carry over, gold, characters did (haven't made it to town to check stash)
Ye
I had to go back to work
But chain lightning fucks

Literal POE character
Is lightning dmg still 1-80,000
Nah
I thought that shit was goated
But for some reason the base damage is 3x higher than all the other spenders
I loved doing 9 dmg to hell mephisto
Maybe I do lightning
I'm leveling with chain + frostbolt
i cant wait to try druid!
well druid seems incredibly barebones, unlucky
can you even play necro as a bonecaster without minions?
or is it same as druid where you have like 3 skills

Sorc is the truth
Is pvp in the beta?
weapon scaling, trust
Aura buff or aura nerf I would see
cause they gonna be able to do the hardest content fastest farm good rare bases at good ilvl and make hella currency for whatever alt they want
tbh tho something is ALWAYS op in arpgs
so
idk
tal rasha wiz, lets go
but balancing for act 1 is so bad too
im sure they got some info from closed beta endgame
i wonder what was the strongest
There’s easy metrics they can generate of like “most used abilities”
uh oh
im in char select but cant enter world
guess thats a rip
114 minutes
xd
think ill just not play this week
will just be depressing to see a total of like 15 skills and then not being able to build around any of them
I got to level 5 and just left the first town
ill also prob not play til release
i actually got a little burnt tryna do all the colllectible stuff like altars lmfaooo
after hittin 25
I feel I got enough of a feel that the combat was very fun for me. So I'm in the same boat, no need to burn out and get tired of the builds I thought were interesting

23min left on my queue estimate
the game wouldnt let me log in after waiting for q
then it just crashed
so im trying it again, if it does it again im giving up xd
It took about 7 minutes for me running into the entrance to first town before the game caught up and I could proceed
sorc is fun
man tho
they need to do more with the character editor
jesus
it's so bare
Jakesorc

can you change your chars appearance afte rmaking
I dunno why there's barely any hairstyles
it's weird
Alot of that shit might just be excluded from the beta
ye
I cant play tho
game wont let me prog
how are people even progressing
I keep getting dc at that one boss
ah, now skelly bros are rubberbanding
bone spear kinda fucks
yeah im 8 as well
keep getting stuck on that miniboss I posted
I was in my 1st dungeon, just cleared a cursed shrine
ah
corpse explosion is pretty satisfying, granted only level 8. large enough base aoe and solid damage
really need to have this shit on ssd
think ill swap it in instead of lost ark
butcher in my first dungeon
what u pick for ur left click and right click
bone splinters with vuln twig on left, right click is bone spear and probably should be crit, but trying vuln too
I took the small % on damage to generate corpse, spear + explode on bosses
sacrificed bone skellies for crit, I'll see what happens if you sac reapers at 12
interesting
i know sac will probably be the better choice
but i did not go that route!!
im bone splinters into sever + supernatural
with skele reapers and the corpse gen %
explosion go brrrr
LOL I actually did the same thing for the gen
explosions too fun
plus I like having the minions chillin
got this too from an elite
no cd, no resource cost, big lucky hit chance?
yeah its actually insane how easy the leveling experience felt as necro
i havent died at all lmao
and im just turbo fucking things
compared to when i was on rogue
always online so cool
^^

the one in the horadrim cave?
i DCed there as well earlier
oh
The first story place
there's also the decompose skill with a twig that grants a corpse every 2.5s or so
hmmm seems weird
I think I like the bone skills too much, vuln too comfy
decrepify and cull is a nice touch
Wasn't thinking and swapped characters, 26 min queue
Diablo IV just had a closed Beta weekend & I played as much as humanly possible, this is my honest review & feedback from the perspective of a more "hardcore" ARPG gamer.

This review is pretty good all things considered
Even if he just repeates himself like 8 times lol
i tried to genuinely watch that this morning but turned it off when he brought up the dead people being naked was actually a huge point for him
can legit make 2 buttons necro build lol
how come I can't gamba rings and amu

why does HALF the jewelry customization have septum piercing for sorc

constant backtracking for stupid objectives
rather than just blasting
cold sorc is so broken

@open nymphty for the tech

infinite ice barrier
no CD on anything
also this staff is so fucking good

butcher just fucks
i have 3 legendaries and all rares and im level 13
am i overpowered on accident or does blizzard want that
ya
sorc is OP
like insanely op

@chilly hingetry running cold sorc
it's nutty
you have infinite frost armor
its great but i also ahte seeing it already
when you get a druid legendary that gives your wolves 150% more damage im already getting d3 ptsd again
cuz the skill is dogshit without it
so why not buff the base skill by 100%

and give the legendary only 50
or 25 even
i dont understand why theyre making the same mistake again of having horrendously undertuned baseskills that need massive damage% numbers via legendaries/uniques to be usable
yeah like
unless you have 3-5 legendaries suiting your build as druid, youre screwed. obviously its early on, but leveling was actually fucking painful

I was just making my barb and I found out I played the entirety of my necro playthrough on world tier 1
i closed the game a few times and still only made it to lv22 before calling it a day for this test, cause i simply dont enjoy playing the game like that. meanwhile as sorc i didnt have a breeze but like, it felt smooth and i had a good time leveling
and then you get the powerspikes from legendaries and its all coming together and it was really good and enjoyable
meanwhile as druid i just... idk. its suffering to level like that
and its not like the specialization stuff is gonna fix it either
the legendary power design already shows the issue
sorc legendaries are also kinda okay
not broken
2nd hydra is big but not a good clearing skill
and hydra is still only supplemental damage
chain lightning gets 2 more jumps is nice but its not a massive dps increase either
frozen orb sucks ass
Run FORB with the vuln passive
and imo thats good design
And then ice blades makes you have 0 cd
ranged rogue was kinda fun idk what im going to play on release though
and then you look at druid and most legendaries boost power by like 100% for a skill and im just left wondering why thats not the base skill
I want to play something thats not my 1st choice because ill play that for the season
and have the power of the legendary be something else instead of just raw damage
smth like "chain lightning jumps 2 more times" is cool cuz theres synergies with other passives and aspects.
150% more damage for skill X is boring as fuck cuz it doesnt change the way the skill works or operates, it has no synergies other than multipliers stacked on more multipliers.
thats my main issue atm
not this early, no
its baiscally just dps on weapon and rest is w/e
but thats kinda the same in other games like this too
Insta melee rogue
obviously getting
+10 int isnt gonna matter at lvl 20
when its just 1% more damage
but at maxlevel getting 50 int is gonna feel much bigger
its the same in wow where you get some shitty +5 agi upgrade at lvl 17
yeah but then the char gets deleted like a few weeks later because of the season
What are you leveling as on your druid?
Nah I feel like poe is just far beyond when leveling
Have to consider stats, res
Sockets
i played earth/air caster at first, but it started becoming boring as fuck at around lvl 15, found a unique for shred so i swapped to werewolf, grinded some dungeons, but it was still painful
like, tornado is fine but
it has shit AI because it sticking to a target is a legendary power, so it only hits 2 times, maybe 3 on bosses
and has small AoE
Also seli did you use blizzard
and you can cast 2 of htem before you gotta generate more resource again
nah
druid just needs either passive regen oder resource cost reduction
but like
having to cast 3-4 basic skills for 1 core skill that doesnt even kill a white mobv, just feels awful
and i ended up fighting like 5+ minutes on some bosses of just kiting
Yea with nado on bosses you gotta try and drag them near an object and blast torandos into the wall
My druid feels pretty strong though D: drop vuln crows and dump like 2 nados kills almost any elite
hurricane zoomin around clearing
really tanky too
jsut did butcher at 15
I know he scales bu tdont have many powers yet etc
Necro is on another level

That bloodmist shit
Is so funny
Literal POE character
the funniest thing is the game feels so janky
in what way?
all server issues ngl
yeah tornado is nice for clear, but it fell off pretty sharply at like lv20+
maybe thats just me not upgrading weapon anymore for a few levels
its really noticeable
pending what end game might just be one of those things for only farming niche zones
im using it in tormented ruins which is tight
lots of good bounces
and on teh boss I can ping pong it back and forth against the wall and pillar
so its just perma on him
decent damage
another krip video
Also just in general I feel like talking class balance at level 25 is a little goofy
the rubber banding was so crazy last week, whenever I used dash on my rogue it felt so bad
nah from what i heard druid absolutely slaps lategame
it plays decently for a beta id say I expect it to be very nice when the 1st season comes out
"heard"
but yeah
like
the problem isnt that druid is bad, its just that all the other classes except barb feel sooo much better its crazy
everyone saying druid so bad I dont even want to try it out
just necro and sorc are zooomin
i like nature spells
like tornadoes and rocks etc
if you could become a thornmancer etc blow some fools
Also pending what late game content really is I dont think class balance will be too impactful for player experience anyways
maybe im weird. It's like raiding in wow, unless you're playing at a very very high level just play what you like and if you're competitive parsing is a spec by spec comparison anyways.
More important to uplift the weak classes so everything at least feels decent o play
Vs Nerf the good stuff.
I think rogue felt pretty bad while leveling until u got cp
Apparently Barb scales like crazy so
yea combo points makes rogue feel good
They should be fine with mid end game
tbf, its not just the gameplay that annoys me with druid
its also the way the class looks
this just appeals so much more to me
as the hermit/druid type
instead i get esfand as the druid in d4
You're playing
It
Dungeons are the late game content
SURELY THERE HAS TO BE SOMETHING ELSE
No lol

It's just m+ versions of these
Afaik you just run some dungeon with affixes that's the nightmare dungeons
But you need sigils to make them
idk necro looked kinda large
Like everything about this game is like it's nice but...
and skeletons look funky, also they kept bugging out and stuttering which is really annoying
i mean theres like
helltides, worldbosses etc.
but yeah, most of the endgame is just dungeons that you spice up with nightmare sigils
idk, necro+druid are just 2 opposites of the eating disorder spectrum, but at least with the necro it kinda makes sense. i just never thought of druid as powerlifting bulky burly characters
living off the land and nature you dont get whole lot of carbs into your diet to have a bodytype like that
PeepoWIDE
they are big and wide because they can only hold 1 totem in their hand and they had to get creative and hold another totum in their booty so much like a tree growing around an object the body formed around the totem inside
some d4 lore
the starter totem legit just looks like hes carrying a block of cheese around
I was hoping there would be more summoning stuff for druid
bro I actually died on a boss fight
as barb at level 8
this shit diff
this ghost summoning asshole in tomb of thazbach

gouda the god
LOL
qwack
naming scheme check
pizzasticks seems sad
I swear to fuck
whoever designed these dungeons
has never played an arpg in their life

bro I just did one that was like
"find the key on the corpse"
I clicked every fucking corpse
and it was on the very last one
I hate the devs
also this game is trying to be too many things to too many people and it's just half cooked in all of them
like why the fuck is herbing a t hing
tbh I give it a 5/10
not worth buying at release imo
the only good thing about the game is the graphics/atmosphere is alot better than d3. and the gameplay feels good but even that at times kinda feels clunky. Like I swear to god there is a hidden GCD
like playing sorc, I am rotating skills cause of all the CDR, if I press iceblades I cant press iceshards/forb at the same time I have to wait like half a second. Some skills are instant like frost armor
its not a gcd its animation lock
gameplay is still fun regardless it's only a couple skills that have weird interaction
mainly conjuration + core skills
and also tisu
I got 25
since you said I wouldn't

space dodge is so dogshit
i mean its just like poe. some skills you can cast without having to stand still, but most skills have a cast time. i think thats good. gives value to a stat like cast speed
yeye
i dont get the space dodge whatsoever, couldve just given every class a movement skill that you can put on that hotkey instead, so you can use 7 skills instead of 6
yeah its like
so most of the time you cant use it to dodge shit
looking at lost ark and seeing spacebar dodge/poe guard skills and thinking
"we should have that too"
lost ark space so much better
i definitely second what hataro said, it seems like the game is trying to do too many things at once and as a result theyve overextended
i dont think the game needed this many progression systems or dungeons etc.
like
downscale the game by 20-30%
and its likely gonna be a better game
strongholds are sick. i like the idea of worldbosses. dungeons suck. so cut one of them and do the rest well, instead of half-assing all of them
when did they actually decide to remove one world tier btw
force move on left click is my biggest qol, I need that shit]
actually plays like dogshit
its like they copy shit
but do it worse
because they dont understand

like unironically this game works better with a controller
fuck consoles
holy shit I need that
dogshit
also are ults even worth picking? Maybe I'm just saying that cause sorc but like
off
what is the point of ults
I g uess my build doesn't really have room for the ult cause I have to cycle CDs
they should have made it a separate slot
like awakening for lost ark
but again
they copied
and made it dogshit
killed the butcher with a controller
big dick
its actually better to play
no cap
except inventory and menu management
i'm only lvl 18 'cause i didn't play at all yesterday
but that might be my biggest criticism
i don't even care how the UI looks, the layout is just garbage
giant ass tabs at the top very obviously made for controller triggers
why do i have to hit Q to bring my quest log over
why can i only track one quest at a time
i read that a lot and its fucking sad
yep. why is chat on the right with no option to change? why no force move that can interact with objects?
answers are all the same: cuz the control scheme and interface is developed for console and crossplay is a more important feature than having a usable PC UI
if this was release and i wasn't playing at wildly out of sync times with everyone else the chat thing would have me screaming
and im dogshit with a controller, never really owned a console
