#KP - Log Review
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
Not the best showing, but felt like I was palying well.
Theres a couple of places I feel like needs to be tightened including:
- rupture positioning
- sectec usage
- tracking FW
Would love to get feedback
@stone belfry if you have time and can review?
Repost your log and I'll have a look
Ahh, I remember looking at this
Give me a few minutes
So, your talents are built for AOE. On Eranog, I always just go full single target. In our rekills, the adds never live long enough to make the pad worth it. If you want a "good log" then you'll need a group that doesn't blow up the adds the moment they're up
Rupture uptime looks fine, especially since you didn't step to boss for boss damage pad when he jumps
You can cast symbols way more
You should be sending it on CD, not holding for anything
If you have dance coming up you can wait maybe 2~ seconds or so
but else, full send it
Trinket usage is fine
Dance usage looks okay
You let slicendice fall off for 14% of the fight, that's free dps
try to keep it up at all times
Looks like you panicked a bit during this dance window, blowing your CB on a strike instead of your sectec
also missing a GCD near the end of it
I think you'd benefit from full committing to single target on first boss, even if this means your overall log isn't quite as high
hmm i'll keep this in mind and experiment next round. I'm a little surprised with the CB sectec as I've macroed it to sectech specifically. I'm not sure why it was logged this way.
If you have time to review the Primal Council log too?

What might have been the case is that CB was up, SecTec wasn't and so, you pressed it, realised that sectec wasn't up but had used strike by that point already
Sure, give me a few mins and I'll check it out
Hmm that might happen. Rah I should track that usage a little closer it seems esp since Afenar's WA shows it
Hey about to head to bed, will reply when I wake up
Alright, having a look now captain
first of all, it looks like you didn't start from stealth! You want to strike onto your first target, interrupt it and build as the 4 bosses are gathering. from there, Rupture TWICE to ensure you get into your burst faster.
So, here:
You ruptured 3 times, which is a position management issue. What you ought to be doing, is rupturing once, seeing who it spreads to then, positioning yourself correctly so that your empowered rupture won't overwrite one of the existing ruptures and instead just be applied to the boss without the debuff
Rupturing 3 times like this means:
Risking overwriting one of your Empowered Ruptures
Getting into burst window later
in dance, I play this fight the exact same as m+. Just strike > BP > SS > SecTec > SS BP Spam
outside of dance, you should be maintaining your rupture debuff on all bosses, empowered when possible and firing out SS BP spam
You can be very liberal with your teas but, be careful of running out of charges completely
Here are your dance casts, you could easily squeeze in another one at the 2 minute mark. Although the cast may seem like it's not worth it, typically more casts > "better" casts
The uptime during dance seems to be an issue. Marks can get hectic so, wouldn't worry about this too much but, it's also a DPS gain if you're able to keep in melee and get the full value out of your dance. This also ties into the last thing I said where, more casts are typically better - play it by ear and see what you can do. Your judgement will get better about this over time
I think cuddle did go over eranog, so i will quick look at council
you did talent into gloomblade what you don't need on the fight
so you can use that point for e.g. stiletto
you took way to long before your first dance
ideally you just storm-rupture-storm-rupture-dance
position should be so that you cover all 4 targets
tornado into dance would be best
but if you feel more comfortable you can
tornado after
best would be to strike-bp-storm-secret or storm-bb-strike-secret
you want to use storm and BP after secret
vanish use can be like you want, it does not matter on 4 targets so you don't need to force it in dance
tea should be used earlier in dance to cover more dance empowered spells
rupture refresh should always be 2 rupture casts, 3 means you need to improve positioning
you rly don't need the gloombalde there you should be almost always on 6+ cp
can also already use tea again for 2nd dance
don't think i need to comment on this dance window, a lot of lost gcds
tea again very late
you had quite long downtime, shouldn't happen with most tactics
again tea, you rly want to use it before dance
*before secret
lost a gcd here
i think you force 7 cp with gb
every dance
its not good
you can finish with 6 just fine
again lost globals
bad positioning
tea not in dance
issues more or less repeat
so tl;dr:
- try to position yourself better to reduce rupture casts
- use tea earlier to get more benefits from the mastery buff
- if you want to use tornado off gcd in the opener, on cd after (on low cp)
- avoid downtime or lost gcds in dance
- don't GB in dance
read your comments, i'll work on the positioning. the pug fight was a little more hectic than I like but will try to keep uptime.
hey thanks for reviewing! Makes lots of sense overall.
For your last point, don't GB in dance as in - don't force 7CP in dance and just send at 6?
yes
I'll make it a point to tea better, and use tornado to open for dance
you only use GB on 4 or 5 cp, if you strike with premed you land on 5+ always, so you shouldn't gb every single time
I kinda wanna see visually the fight how it was. There was a lot of marks spreading going on which I suspect was why I had downtime (pug raid), but no excuses still
i also hope i didn't repeat something cuddle did mention, a lot of good input from her too
you did, but that just means I need to work on it more.
but overall lots to work on to get better. thanks @empty dew and @forest haven
just try to give yourself time
mistakes are normal, and fixing one at the time is usually better than trying to do "everything at the same time"
I hear you, I recognise I've come a long way since the days of not knowing the dance rotation. And knowing how long that took to just get comfortable with it it'll take time
Super grateful for how supportive you and the community have been during that
