#Pringus - Log Review

i feel like i'm at a wall in terms of my gameplay and i'm not sure what i'm doing wrong
i know my gear isn't optimal (not having cowl+ring, no boon), but if there's anything even remotely wrong with my gameplay i'd like to figure it out
so please do be nitpicky about anything wrong for whoever decides to review
Remind me to look at this in 4hrz
will do
Looking at it now
Top level, RtB uptime needs lots more. SnD looks aight but can be better
So I was wondering about the SS casts, but I notice you keep getting very unlucky with procs. Like both vanish and dance are on CD and you come up dry.
Nitpicking this sequence, was this low energy or reposition? Could have got off 1 more ambush (dance is 6s or so)
Without looking deeper into buffs at the time, it feels like some low CP finishers going off (5CP and below)
Caught it and sent dance, but could have sent dance 1 GCD earlier.
This will be controversial, but given your last fight was ending and you sent vanish. Why not hold the vanish for start of next fight? I might be wrong here, but makes no sense to send vanish/dance for end of fight
Stuff like this
Could maybe pool for an ambush here?
ambush, dance, ambush, dispatch?
Why not send the finisher first?
again
ensure you have energy for dance
ADR use for a 13s encounter? hold for next pack
I think you understand the rotation pretty well, but feels like you're playing this pre-FTH nerf style without accounting for the CP before finishes
- Core issues:
- RtB uptime. 90% min, as important as SnD
- Low CP finishers, this happens constantly throughout.
- Ambush, Dance, Ambush, Dispatch? besides CP usage, was PS proc not up?
- Fully using a dance window, couple of instances you sent dance but didn't fully use. (Ties into Nitpick 1)
- Nitpicks:
- CD usage, If its near the end of pack why send ADR/Vanish/SD. You're constantly fishing for procs next fight because your CDs aren't up
- Energy pool for dance? if you're going to send it, consider energy usage. or prep for it.
I think your BR use is fine, but can be improved
All I have for now @jolly tendon, hope it helps.
massive help, ty
it was low energy for certain, i usually keep grapple for repositioning and use the blade rush charge as a last resort option for movement
i value sending stuff more often than holding for the sake of having more uses of my cds over the course of a dungeon
i came from playing feral in SL and a big principle i had to learn was that it was better to send a half-decent berserk than miss a berserk cast in a dungeon
that principle is compounded upon for a spec like outlaw that has cdr on its cds, to me
but i definitely do screw myself over by not holding certain cds, like you saw with that ss chain
it was bad luck that should've been mitigated with better cd usage
I agree that in general you will want to send your CDs, but I'm pointing out specific scenarios at the end of a pack where you send. And it screws you over next pack when you have nothing up at all
i find that whenever i have bad buffs/procs and my rotation slows down, i enter vanish/SD with too little energy without pooling properly
yeah
there are pulls where i feel as though i should have something up, and my dps suffers heavily for it
so i'll enter a cycle of doing 0 damage at the start of the pull because i have no resources, then press my cds towards the end of a pull
i always make an effort to prepare cp/energy as pulls die, but i'll try being more judicious with my cd usage
specifically I'll refer to this statement you made.
Crossing the wall might be having to reconsider part of the mental model
i'd have to spend time re-learning a few things, then
but that's part of getting better, so not an issue
you got this man, it'll take time.
The core issues bit you need to prioritise more. the low CP finisher stuff is major
it's target dummy time
