looking for feedback on this RLP 19. day 3 officially of doing sub in M+ and wondering where i'm at. I know the first pull I was really off and clumsy, not doing rotation well. Several pulls I had odd lag spikes which caused my dances to not be correctly done. Like basically most of the Dances where theres no Secret Technique is cuz I lagged out for a second or so... well except one dance on Blazehoof. I had to run out mid dance cuz the elemental was about to explode so I came out of dance before I could get back in range for Secret Technique.
I know log parses for M+ is not reliable, but it suggests i'm 55% which is about middle of the road/average right from what I understand.

M+ log parses basically dont mean anything honestly bc all it does is compare key levels and times, not actual performance

If you want to check your dps tho go to wcl, go to dungs, enter your dung, spec, key level (and maybe affixes) and see what others do

which I just noticed is weird cuz logs say 65k but details ingame says 74k.

Also here is a quick example of why key parses suck:
Top and bottom are sub logs. 8k log dps diff but since the top one is a 20 and the bottom one is a 19 the top one is a better parse (same affixes, literally done on the same day)

thats dumb. Wish they could make logs more useful as a tool to determine your individual performance in a key vs others like it does for raid.

Close to 20% dps doesnt matter since the key level is better (if even just by 1)

like I am guessing they are doing it that way given the nature of keys would be hugely complicated to work out.

Ofc but still, if you do everything the same but just on a higher key level it doesnt matter how good you are, you get the worse parse for the lower key just bc you were in the lower key
All you can do is go and check your dps in the same affixes on same key levels (since higher key levels also have bigger pulls resulting in more dmg, otherwise they wouldnt be timeable)

yeah. I just am trying to figure out if i'm doing well or not. I want to start pushing into 20-21 keys, and hopefully find a group to join, but I don't want to be playing like shit and holding the group back.

Can just strongly recommend faq and then ask the “dumb questions” did the same and my first timed 20 was on sub altho i havent touched it since literally this week

I was watching Yoda's stream today and and I was telling him in his chat about what my single target dps was in a 19 HoV earlier today and he say that it seems low cuz he can do almost double.

Check one of his logs in a 19 hov on same affixes and compare your dps on it, best you can do

yeah I read the FAQ constantly and do my best with it, but I have a hard time learning from reading a wall of text and implementation is challenging.

I mean, you got a phone and/or pc that shows 20th of february but there u go
Try to divide it into dance and not dance stuff maybe, that helped me, + target counts you use what builders/spenders
From that point it was just practice (which i still lack with like 10ish keys done as sub so far)

good idea. I am feeling like i'm getting single target dance down, AOE dance is a mess, and I should prob look closer out of dance.

looking at the long logged run for HOV Yoda has, which was 20 back on Dec 26 at ilvl 409 and his odyn fight he did 61,995 dps, where my odyn fight was 53k. now he is vastly more experienced with sub then I am with it being his main spec and is ranked 26 in the world for M+. So yeah I guess I wasn't doing that awful.
wait nvm i'm comparing details with logs and if my log is anything to go by logs takes off like 10k dps. rip lol

yeah unfortunately I didn't have logs for HOV, when he said he could do that much more I logged my next key being RLP hoping that I could perhaps get a log review and compare in warcaft logs or something and see where i'm at.
his only logged RLP is a 20 and was fortified so not really that comparable
according to logs though the top 100 logged runs for 19 RLP of all affixes range from 92k-70.9k and since my logs were 65k and i'm very new to sub that actually makes me feel rather good about it. anyways thanks again for the tips and chatting with me about it all.
