#TheWarthog - Log Review

okay the main thing is your usage of finishers
finishers are between the eyes, slice and dice, and dispatch
you should use them only when at 6 or 7 combo points
it looks like you are pressing them at 1cp, 2cp, 3cp... etc
this is a fundamental misunderstanding of playing rogue
you should be building combo points to spend them at high counts
BF uptime seems really high on Raz too
i suggest you read the #outlaw-faq, because you are missing a lot of things
it describes how to use every ability
and unfortunately it can be a lot to keep track of
you definitely need to go to the training dummies and just take a step back, unlearn whatever you thought was right for this spec, cause most of your spell usage looks random to me
try to think of your priorities as:
- cooldowns, according to each of their rules
- finishers, if you are at 6cp or 7cp
- builders, if you are not at 6cp or 7cp, according to each of their rules
Oh I just saw this channel
So I have GSE set up for this cuz I was doing even worse but I don't know if I'm spamming it accidently, is Outlaw Rogue just a bad thing for me to try to play?
gse, i dont know what that means
It's like a macro helper thing
if it is something that is attempting to make decisions for you then i think it has horrifically failed
I've tried the other one I've seen suggested Helsinki? It like recommends an order, and I've read the FAQ and Icy-Veins "Rotations" and it's like 13 button combos?
there are rotation helpers like hekili and herorotation, but you wont know why you are pressing the things you are ๐ฆ
i think it will limit how far you can reach with this spec
I haven't played WOW since Classic and my friends wanted me to play, I played a rogue in Classic and this is like a foreign language and I think I should just quit
if you want to learn outlaw, i think there are steps that wont make it so bad
it sounds like you are missing a WeakAura package that can show you a lot of information
it is very common to use weakauras to display energy, cooldowns, combo points, buff timers etc in the middle of your screen or wherever is convenient
im not against you use a rotation helper if you think it will help you for a while
I learned by reading #outlaw-faq and then slapping a training dummy until i got the basic rotation down. Then I hopped into dungeons ๐
These WeakAuras has made life so much easier for me:

https://wago.io/Afenar_Rogue/157
https://wago.io/uDQxVXIdw/2 (if you are playing with the HO build)
Roll rules updated: 08.01.2023 - (DD.MM.YYYY) Features Supports HO and KIR buildsAssists with Roll the Bones usage with
Part of AfenarUI HUD The entire collection of Rogue: Outlaw, Assassination, Subtlety specializations for World of Warcra
i mean, if you want to have fun with your friends without having to go crazy learning a spec, then hekili or herorotation can do that
Is Outlaw the spec I should be using for this? I just want to have fun with friends and not be bottom of the meters as well, but also Outlaw is supposedly a "S Tier" dmg so I figured even if I was SHIT I should be doing better than nothing but that is not true
it's hard to say. i do think outlaw is one of the more difficult specs especially to someone who is not used to modern wow
but, it is also very fun ๐
Sorry to chime into the conversation-
I played rogue since vanilla too, outlaw is very different than combat was. You have a lot of builders to manage and random gameplay to deal with. HeroRotation helped me get on the right track, but if you are looking for something closer to what combat was, I think Sub is the spec for you.
you have 1 builder (gloom blade) and a couple different finishers you use in different situations, you maintain rupture and slice and dice outside of that. Just food for thought
