I don't think you can bypass the hot tip. The 2nd one, you can completely skip the stone talon mountains part once you have the quest initially from the chest. You can go straight into SFK

I ran up to undercity (as alliance) and went in the sewer entrance. It popped up UNDERCITY in red. Saw that I had mail and went back to the house for the rune

you got 30% crit for backstab from talents + costs only 40 energy from rune. you dont want to put dots on your targets in pvp because gouge is very overpowered and dots break it. shadowstrike for closing gaps, stun because stun is good

Full Combat build with repost and imp sprint/evasion or full backstab/ambush sub build will be better than saber slash poison build
The dots break gouge and it’s less burst in general which is what you want.
The shadow rune for 20 less energy cost on backstab/ambush is huge for one tapping people
You can ambush - backstab - gouge -backstab and they’re dead if you have some gear and are spec’d right
But that type of build is better for objective play like in Wsg to one shot the efc
The full combat build is better if you’re gonna have longer sustained fights or want to open world pvp in ashenvale
Better sprint with reduced cd on sprint and evasion plus reposte. You can also use the main gauche rune for more parry chance to proc reposte.
I suggest shadow strike always for gap closer plus you can vanish-shadow strike- kick if you need to stop an important cast from say a healer on to the efc
Or you can vanish- shadowstrike- gouge

Depends on what you’re going for. People use Cruel Barb in main hand cause it’s high damage cap per hit which increases the damage of your abilities

The rune Main gauche for example though uses the off hand. It strikes with the off hand doing 150% weapon dmg
The thing is though cruel Barb is slower

Not sure whether you mean the question about not needing to apply Instant Poison to a weapon at all, or the question about what to use in PvP.
In PvE, if I'm not in somewhere like Stockades where enemies will run, I'll just leave poisons off, because that gives me Instant and Deadly on both weapons for maximum damage. In Stockades (or somewhere similar), I'll put Crippling on the offhand, sacrificing a bit of damage to make sure the enemies don't pull extra rooms.
As for the PvP question, I don't PvP, so I'm not sure what the "general strategy" is.
Personally, if I was doing PvP, though, and using Deadly Brew, I'd probably put Mind-numbing on one hand, Crippling on the other, to help account for any casters.

I hadn't noticed a difference in how often I got Instant Poison triggers (and thus Deadly) whether I had it on or not.
It seemed to be about the same, overall. When directly applied, it was about 20% of my swings caused Instant+Deadly. When it wasn't applied, I got about 20% of my swings causing Instant+Deadly.

I'm not as familiar with dagger builds, but if I were applying "sword-build logic", I imagine the War Knife would be mainhand, the Harpy Skinner in the offhand.
War Knife has the (very slightly) higher weapon damage numbers, and the Skinner has higher DPS than the Blade of Cunning.

but quick draw seems infinitely better for pvp
but yeah unless i'm misunderstanding how it works the deadly brew procs should apply even if there's a stone/wild strikes effect on the weapon so the ideal PVE setup would be stone offhand, nothing mainhand (if wild strikes) or stones on both hands if no wild strikes

Just because you have saber doesn’t mean you should never use sinister. Sinister does more direct dmg. After you apply 3 stacks on saber you should use sinister and only saber to refresh your stacks.

Tbh i don’t notice any direct damage difference. I’ve hit and crit higher with saber and i’ve hit and crit higher with SS feel like it just depends on the damage scale you weapon decides to hit that time.

Saber slash does 130% weapon dmg on initial hit. Sinister strike does 100% and adds ‘X’ amount depending on rank. Rank 4 Sinister strike for example adds 15 dmg. If you take the Cruel Barb it does 57 dmg at cap. 30% of 57 is 17.1 so it’s case yes Saber is just better. If you have a lower damage weapon though to the point where that extra 30% is less than the Sinister strike bonus then it’s still better for direct damage.

It’s still good tho for general gap closing though plus it’s just fun. Just sucks you kinda waste stealth for the most part. Only 150% weapon damage is buns compared to ambush/garrote or even a sap.

The game won’t update a high effect with a lower one, idk if it’s based on the initial amount of combo points or the time remaining, but for things like the blade dance rune we can’t extend an existing 5cp 10% parry buff with a 3 cp version untill the 5cp drops off

If SnD is a 20% attack speed increase, which is going to increase your white damage and poison damage from more swings, more procs etc., keeping up SnD even half the time would be an overall 5% damage increase over a 2% damage increase, no?

Unless you do like i did and accidently send a mutilate into the lightning shield, which ofcourse procs both your poisons and your meteor shard so you instantly get glocked from 100-0 because you did 5 hits at the same time

I know that the bleed component puts it above it just seems like it should still be similar damage

@fringe quarry I tried it and will for my guild however it is pretty yikes to play, no aoe, no cleave and combo points are not tied to us so we constantly lose them/are out of energy

I have been testing this, and I think once you have 3 stacks then Sinister is the way to go. I assumed that with good gear and weapons, the % based dmg of Saber would always put it ahead. Perhaps it is bugged or something because in my (short) testing Sinister just hits harder. Obviously the DoT puts Saber ahead overall - but only until you have 3 stacks.

this has 51 average damage. 130% of that is 66.3 (saber strike) vs 66 (sinister strike)

depends on how high your weapon damage is, sinister strike is ahead on lower weapon damage weapons but falls behind on higher
