12.0.5 Update to Trickster

With 12.0.5 we have had a rework of Cloud Cover and it is very strong. What it does is that once you cast Shadow Blades you will drop a decently large smokescreen underneath your feet, and while inside it or for 10 seconds after leaving it all of your attacks (including autos and nimble flurry) will apply Fazed, and it will stack up to 3 times.

When mobs have 3 stacks on them all the Fazed buffing effects in the trickster tree are tripled, which means +24% damage done, +150% critical strike damage on generators and -15% damage taken.

Because of this powerful effect there's some new recommendation for talents to utilize the large additional burst during Shadow Blades, most of which center around leveraging the massive crit damage of Shadowstrike or as they hit VERY hard when they crit. These are the talent swap we are looking at with some explanation as to why:

For both singletarget and AoE:

• No Scruples -> Cloud Cover: While 10% critical strike chance on finisher is good, this new Cloud Cover talent is way better.
• Warning Signs -> Planned Execution: These are very close, but Planned Execution provides better burst during Shadow Blade windows while Warning Signs performs better during the non-blades Shadow Dances.
• Premeditation -> Ephemeral Bond/Quick Decisions: This might seem very strange as the replacement talents provide no DPS, but due to the way the first Ancient Arts works you cannot proc any shadow clones from a Shadowstrike with Premeditation up, and with how much damage the Shadowstrikes and the accompanying clones are doing its just more worthwhile to skip the extra combo points and opt for the chance of a big clone Shadowstrike instead. This leads to the opener being pretty cursed, where you just backstab until 7 cp.

For ST only:

• Finality -> The Rotten: Because the Shadowstrikes hit so hard buffing two of them by 35% is very strong. This is a feasible swap you can do in dungeons too if you want slightly more Singletarget damage at the cost of some AoE.

Since Cloud Cover is not buffing Shadowstrike damage, but only the critical strike damage, we are suddenly a lot more interested in critical strike as a stat, to the point where we prioritize it over mastery in ST once we have gotten the appropriate amount of Haste. It is not a disaster if you still have a lot of mastery, but you might want to steer towards getting some additional crit.

Overall the talent is exceptionally strong and the way the numbers currently look it puts Subtlety back up there with some of the highest burst in the game, which is a niche we have had in the past and something i think most are very excited about getting back to. For some rough numbers on how strong the talent is:

• ST: +5-6%, with more damage concentrated into blades, so the burst window is around 20-25% stronger.
• AoE: +~6%, not as much of an increase to burst as on Singletarget but the burst is ~15% or so stronger.

you get exactly 1 finisher cast after the 40s mark

so i saved it to sectec the last set of add eggs

our comp also isn't particularly bursty i think its correct to sac my p1 damage for egg burst but it's probably not universally true
