Sin tends to do higher damage overall in m+; their aoe damage is stellar but their talents give up single target to do it, whereas sub can do very good aoe damage without having to sacrifice single target damage so you kinda pick which is more important to you
in general though, sin is tuned better and can take advantage of funnel/prio damage better
but that's not to say sub is bad, its actually very good

Sadly the optics blizzard puts out show they either don’t have the time to make quality adjustments to classses (ie bug fixes) or substantial mid tier content patches. They toss out buffs to cover for broken class design, and gate (one way or another) a low volume of content to keep a sub going for maybe 1-2 extra months.
