Ambush is currently only used from blindside/sepsis proc, not from stealth.
The reasoning is a little complicated, but the most important of them is the difference in combo points on crit (up to 4 vs 3).
Some other factors to consider are increased poison applications, blindside, and doomblade. This is true for all talent combinations and legendaries.

Missing a cast has to do with syncing it with vendetta, if you send flag off cd you won't miss a cast anyways lol

The important thing is to give the full picture rather than the ST 400 gain. It’s also closer to 700 due to covenant as well - not just 400. But not every person prioritizes min/maxing over comfort. Hence why sin rogues still existed in 9.0.

Pooling should kind of happen naturally, outside of shiv, vendetta, and flag windows you're only envenoming to try to keep the buff uptime

but it's generally a good idea to go into a shiv window with 70ish energy

so you're not energy starved and sad

Thanks for the info, i moved to rogue from enhancement shaman so it feels really awkward to not be casting something every second. Im usually spamming mut/garrote if i dont have the cbp for envenom/rupture. Another question I have is after an envenom do i still spam mut/gar or do i chill to pool a bit?

assassination is a low apm spec, so if you're spamming mut you'll find yourself energy starved really quick

once you get those down you can work on stuff like pandemic envenom and pooling for bursty windows
