@flint frost lemme expand for you since it does seem like youre actually trying to learn. Flame is good, just good. It is a good major if you have limited majors to choose from but it will lose out to a lot of other majors when you get them (such as bote clf and wv). As a minor, flame is also just good but will be beat out by others (such as botd and lucid). The best thing for you do to do to determine whats best FOR YOU with YOUR options and gear is to sim yourself in top gear, scroll down to the essences section and select the potential combos you have available to YOU

Im purely guessing atm so take what you will. If it does work on drest, i dont think its enough to make the healing low enough to burn through those last 3-4%. Id need actual numbers, but best case scenario, youre chopping off like 500k “heal” which is unlikely to be enough to change the push

So, if wound works, it essentially “adds” 2.6m of dmg in that 5s window. Meaning your raid still needs to be doing just over 2m dps (just over 10m over 5 seconds). Which is POSSIBLE but unlikely
Which just loops me back to my previous comment of it being an extremely specific situation and likely not worth the time and effort to consider
You would need, on avg, 130-140k dps from every dps to push that (not accounting for healer and tank dps)
And thats just to break even on the heal; doesnt account for the hp the boss still actually has
