@rotund ridge in general you can use raidbots droptimizer set to benthic to determine which benthic piece to upgrade first
it'll show you the relative value of each piece vs your current equipped gear
in some cases you may want to get a piece to like, 420, then move on and start rolling for the next slot

SS / subterfuge setups are nearly always inferior to DD / MA setups for pure patchwerk, yes. You still need to sim yourself with the correct parameters to find out what the best setup is for your current gear.

For all the more experienced combo generating class players, is it better to use finshers at 4 combo poonts rather than mutilate and waste a combo point , I assume it is better to use rupture or envenom. Also should I hold off envenom if I already have the buff, if I am not energy capped

Yeah, I just have a 430 goraks, so don't think I'm going to spend the residuum on it, only 600 dps gain. I have 430 blackwater and 430 zaqul head, trying to decide what to buy

2/2/2 is balanced and can be used in anyway situation, you might want a third eb in certain dungeons like teeming/tyrannical where you can do huge pulls, you might also want a 3rd ss in dungeons with small pulls like ToS and kr

Ok so I have a rotational question on single target, outside of your tb window you need to be keeping up your poisons and preparing for your next tb window, if you have a bit of time to kill should you ever pool some energy then do a flurry of envenoms to make use of the elaborate planning talent? Obviously you should do this during your tb windows but should you do it outside as well?
