You dont want to sit on the exsang cd though if you are pulling a big pack id unload the exsang on the prio target if there is one then continue the normal cleave. youll get more dmg and more energy over the course of the pack. exsang requires more planning to make it fully effective. If you have multiple Shrouded Suff talents its prob better to run exsang although personally it took some practice to get down for M+

There isn’t a cap on how much Titan Residuum you can hold, and we do not plan to reset Titan Residuum at the start of Season 2. When Season 2 begins, the vendor will offer higher item-level pieces (iLvl 400 or 415) at significantly higher costs than the Season 1 items.

there is no restealth in dungeon slice so my guess is that its saying you need more because its constant combat and you might have close to 25% crit which is good to shoot for with dungeon set

it just depends on how big you can go. if youre only ever pulling 3 target, pb is better, but if you can get fat 5+ target pulls for the whole dungeon, the CT damage becomes worth

@peak juniper EP is short. it buffs all the dmg during it. Env and Rupture apply it. If you are going to env, try to env during the prior EP. this is "clipping" TB is a bit longer, we aim for 2+ env during TB.

minor question. since our dots don't snapshot. elaborate planning when cast boosts the ticks for those 4 seconds correct? if that's the case, during vendetta + exsanguinate is it beneficial to use a quick 3cp envenom to boost not only those 2 bleeds, but to get a doublle mutilate > envenom during the 10% bonus window. or is the loss of a potential envenom > mutilate > mutilate > garrote > envenom. So the 2nd envenom is 100% benefitting from the previous envenoms buff (potentially also under elaborate planning)

nightstalker rupture is roughly 15.7% more than subterfuge garrote without any SS traits. using the numbers my tooltip shows. any SS traits put subterfuge miles ahead. . . . master assassin no SS . . . lets see . . . about 13.8% ahead of master assassin. that's not counting the extra combo points. just the flat dmg bonus it does. . . . also not counting the temporary crits on garrote/rupture/poisons/autos. so much closer than that. . . not as far behind as i thought

is it a good idea to refresh envenom while an envenom is still in effect? outside capped energy ofc. ik envenom boosts poison proc rate which is amazing with mut + double dose. but i'm not sure if envenom hits twice and also benefits from that bonus duration (would be nice if the buff went off before it connected, so it always gets it's own buff . . . . but that's probably asking too much)

i've never seen anyone playing solely around envenom buff, usually it's playing around EP, i.e. you use your next envenom at <0.2 sec remaining on EP, maximizing EP and env buff usage

elaborate planning tends to fade with envenom still having 2-3 seconds left. just feels like a waste to completely let 2-3 seconds of auto's + mutilate openings + potential envenom double hit and poison procs. just for 2-3 seconds of 10% dmg bonus that you'll get during the next envenom window anyway. so long as you aren't wasting energy ofc. . . . . . that and if i tried to keep up ep on a single target i'd end up energy starved pretty quick. where waiting out for envenom timer to fade I don't really get starved outside the reapplication of rupture phase. I just try to fit both mutilates within the ep + envenom window

if you're used to the range of melee and not getting away from you're target then it's not terrible

not as much as their used to with shrouded suffocation. just tripple garrote > rupture > fan of knives to apply poison > crimson tempest

in 8.1 our AoE gets better

it takes a little getting used to though. when you can afford to drop 1-2 ruptures on nearly dead targets, and when to focus on fan of knives + crimson tempest (you can go with poison bomb too, i just like tempest)

starting with poison bomb will generally work out well for a newer learning assassination, till you get the feel of energy flow on AoE

otherwise it's pretty straightforward, and tends to do well. . . . it won't outburst like a mage or DH for certain, but if the targets take longer than 10 seconds to kill it works out well

talking 8.1 raids not uldir. uldir they do well in all but around 3 fights. . . and are a requirement for zul (till the massive massive prio dmg nerf to sub rogues in 8.1 . . . and that's specifically a sub rogue fight)

decent mob control with initiating onto casters with tripple iron wire + subterfuge garrotes. giving 3 6 second silences (at least 1 on a mage, brings it into melee). . . . and good personal survival . . rogues kit is just way too good for m+ in general.

and very potent boss kill potential (less with crimson tempest, but still more than enough. . . . as it's an AoE trait that has 0 benefit for ST)

AoE is also something that takes getting used to if you use crimson tempest. so i'd start out with poison bomb in tier 100, and master poisoner in tier 15 till you get the feel for it. then swap over to elaborate planning, and swap between poison bomb and crimson tempest depending on dungeon, and if it's tyrannical/fortified week

ya . . . crimson tempest too but don't worry about that one till the basic rotation is down

if you jump straight into the min/max and such without mastering the basics, you could end up sacrifing part of the basics, which is more detrimental

you're dps will be lower early on for sure, but mastering the basics before min/maxing is well worth that tiemframe of lower dmg . . . it's not a whole lot lower as most you're dmg is garrote/rupture/auto attacks

and envenom

#

the most difficult part about AoE, is energy management. you want garrote + rupture on 3 targets that are poisoned which will prettymuich flood you with energy. so balancing the dot maintenance, and fitting in envenom's (Crimson tempest when talented) without letting to many drop so you no longer have energy regen takes a little getting used to . . . the rest isn't hard

fan of knives applies your poisons, so after 2-4 fans generally all the targets around you are poisoned, so you're 2 dots are flooding you with energy

on AoE . . . . . . i don't really use alot of envenoms . . . since i use crimson tempest . . . . if you're using poison bomb . . . you'll have quite a bit of them

with 6 dots on targets with poisons up . . . you're overflowing with energgy. and with a little crit rate, and like 8 mobs around you . . . 1 fan of kinves = 4-5 cp . . . . you have a fniisher literally every 2-3 skills most times . . depending on rng for crits ofc

Question regarding the value of traits in dungeon context.
My options are:

375 helm - Double Dose
375 Shoulders - Shrouded Suffocation
375 Chest - Shrouded Suffocation

or

375 helm - Double Dose
390 shoulders - Double Dose
375 chest - Shrouded Suffocation

This question really boils down to the following:

How valuable is SS in dungeons in general m+? Enough to offset an entire tier with Double Dose?
Is there a case to be made for DD x2 high tyrannical to become the single target specialist for that particular run?

Additionally:
In case the case for the single target specialist holds value:

Swap to Toxic Blade + Poison Bomb or stick with ol' faithful ? (Exsang + CTempest)

Even if the sims are heavily in favor of the 390 DD shoulders the difference is so small,
Single target TB/PB : 390 DD only beats 375 SS by 300 dps
Single target Ex / CT: 390 DD only beats 375 SS by 200 dps

and we can deduce that SS scales with > 1 target, so my 390 piece is effectively useless
