its always more energy less cost ct wahhhhhh ct wahhhhhhh but it's so nearsighted and completely inconsequential to what the perceived problem is and it does nothing to actually fix anything

the problem is, and always has been a lack of gameplay to justify the speed. Assassination is fine being slow, people have been happy to pool when there's been a reason to. There just never is. And complaining about the amount of buttons pressed or the energy going into things is not the solution, it's just ducktaping over it and not fucking fixing the actual thing. Envenom uptime is maxed already, in leveling greens, it's fucking atrocious.

When you're attaching any value to envenoms buff, but the buff is 100% value, then there is nothing to manage.

When you're attaching value to dropping envenom, but it's hard to do so because it's infinite uptime, then that feels awkward.

When you're told to "manage energy" but there is no reason to do so, then downtime feels pointless and unreasonable on a spec.

You fix that by adding a REASON to do those things. Lowering energy costs or just saying fuck it add regen, unnerf venomous wounds, big energy yolo, what you're doing is you're literally making the problem worse and not moving the spec forward. Envenom uptime is infinite? How will adding an extra 800 make that any better. Your buttons feel awkward? You're pressing fok -> envenom an extra 15 times a fight now, does that make you happy? The consequences of going ++energy is the spec plays the same, does the same things, but you're just pressing more buttons for the sake of pressing buttons and removing the entire point of having to manage anything or have a resource in the first place. Regardless of what your stance is; maybe you want energy capped assa and that's your dream for some reason, fair enough. But Blizzard said that the goal is to make energy management the gameplay, wanted to slow it down, on purpose, and make us play around envenom and play around energy. That's what the envenom talents are trying to do, implacable is trying to do that. They are definitely failing at that job, but just cramming more energy into the spec will guarantee that they never succeed

and maybe I'm elitist for thinking that's obvious, maybe I spend too much time and have put too many hours into these conversations and thinking about the spec, but it's fucking draining when every god damn day it's always "ugh so slow no energy just fucking buff energy make ct cheap why do I have to wait", because it's so near-sighted and the solution is so undercooked and the consequences of it are just not thought about at all, and I sit here and type all this out because I know you're a reasonable guy but most people won't read it, and I can't repeat it 24/7 and varas is going to go "happy for you or sorry that happened" because he's just shitposting perma and so I just sit here and I just go "buffing energy is dumb" and then I'm the jackass sitting in the class discord wanting assassination to be slow when every person that's played the spec for 2 months is going just buff the energy whispyr why won't they just do it, blizz pl0x buff energies, I want hit button

Honestly I never thought about it that way. I also maybe should have added, that I dont really mind having the slower playstyle (in contrary to my earlier take), because this way I can focus a bit more on what I am doing, how am I doing this and making sure to play mechanics right. And its sad to see that Blizzard is not hitting the mark with how assassination should feel like to play.

I also understand how this must feel for you, you are the face of Assassination Rogue, so people come to you with these takes and expect you to just magically fix these issues, which I know you are not able to do, in the end, you are just a gamer like us, just teaching us how to play our spec and giving is the advice you can. why would you not craft the wep? its most likely gonna be used until you get a mythic to main hand then you off hand it, giving you a high tier wep to use all the way to mythic tier. and thats prob gonna be what 4+ weeks till myth tier? ill take having a good wep at champion tier atm then upgrade it to hero
