Your misunderstanding is that you think it’s a simple equation like ABCD. But in reality, it is not. We can agree DPS is a function like DPS(wdps,vers,haste,crit), but it’s highly complicated like: DPS=vers(A(mastery^10haste)+B(master^1haste^51,3crit)…..
so you cannot just say ABCD -> D will be good anyway.

Running out of energy in single target is completely normal, intended design of Assassination. As a burst spec our damage is mainly loaded into Deathmark/Shiv and massive Envenoms through stacking multiple nature damage buffs such as Lingering Darkness, Shiv, Darkest Night, Amplifying Poison, and more. This comes with the natural downside of our damage suffering outside of these windows, in part due to the designed lack of energy slowing us down.

Because of this, there is only one minor (0.3%) min-max with energy, which is pooling 3-4 seconds into an upcoming Kingsbane. Ideally this would put you at around 50-60% energy before you enter your Kingsbane, which is more than enough energy alongside thistle tea. Outside of that, spam Envenom and just accept that you will run out of energy. There is nothing you can do to not run out of energy. Playing around Envenom uptime also is not relevant anymore, as Twist the knife allows for two stacks at a time, which reduces wasted uptime dramatically. Without twist the knife, wasting uptime is unavoidable.

1. Not using Deadly/Amplifying poison (or its not applied to your target)
2. Not using Rupture on your target

Vanish->Ambush during cooldowns with Darkest Night up has two main benefits:

• Getting more mark uptime by reapplying when it's down
• Consuming Darkest Night then puts you from 3 stacks of the mark down to 2 since the mark is already applied

As of September 13th with the Echoing Reprimand Fix, that second part is broken. Blizzard inadvertantly added a bug where you cannot consume mark stacks while darkest night is active. This will hopefully get resolved quickly as it is quite impactful. Until that time, you might want to consider taking improved garrote in your single target build (instead of 1 point of vicious venoms, or instead of improved poison). You do not have to do this, and if you would like to continue to play without improved garrote, you would simply hold onto your vanish in case you drop the mark. Once the bug is fixed you would go back to vanish->ambush.

how do I deal with energy? there will be a time in the fight it's at 0s and I cast once like every 5 seconds, and I use the energy regen bleed talent. My dps plummets during that time where I can't do nothing (tea in CD)

Running out of energy in single target is completely normal, intended design of Assassination. As a burst spec our damage is mainly loaded into Deathmark/Shiv and massive Envenoms through stacking multiple nature damage buffs such as Lingering Darkness, Shiv, Darkest Night, Amplifying Poison, and more. This comes with the natural downside of our damage suffering outside of these windows, in part due to the designed lack of energy slowing us down.

Because of this, there is only one minor (0.3%) min-max with energy, which is pooling 3-4 seconds into an upcoming Kingsbane. Ideally this would put you at around 50-60% energy before you enter your Kingsbane, which is more than enough energy alongside thistle tea. Outside of that, spam Envenom and just accept that you will run out of energy. There is nothing you can do to not run out of energy. Playing around Envenom uptime also is not relevant anymore, as Twist the knife allows for two stacks at a time, which reduces wasted uptime dramatically. Without twist the knife, wasting uptime is unavoidable.

you also shouldn't be using vanish as a dps cooldown with deathstalker like that. in raid, you don't take master assassin so it's not a dps cooldown, and in M+ you don't take kingsbane so the sequence doesn't apply
