Explanation of why stealth benefits aren't as important as you might think:

• For starters, "Chain pulls" are NOT when the tank pulls a new pack with 1% hp remaining on the previous mobs. That is called "Bad Tanking", and it sucks for everyone in your party.
• Correct Chain pulls usually happen while the previous pack is still alive and not dangerous. This increases uptime on more targets, which is the biggest increase in DPS for the entire party. This is also the biggest reason why you see high key level players doing so much damage.
• Garrote is roughly 7-9% of people's damage in a key, most of which is already empowered/cleaved
• Most energy spreading will come from Rupture to maintain scent of blood, not garrote
• Without a Trace (+1 vanish charge) only grants roughly 2 additional casts across a whole dungeon, but does allow for holding vanish for large chain pulls which improves the quality of each vanish
• You can argue that it "feels bad", but numerically there is very little ground to stand on, the dps simply isn't there.

As a burst spec our damage is mainly loaded into Deathmark/Shiv and massive Envenoms through stacking multiple nature damage buffs such as Lingering Darkness, Shiv, Darkest Night, Amplifying Poison, and more. This comes with the natural downside of our damage suffering outside of these windows, in part due to the designed lack of energy slowing us down.

Because of this, there is only one minor (0.3%) min-max with energy, which is pooling 3-4 seconds into an upcoming Kingsbane. Ideally this would put you at around 50-60% energy before you enter your Kingsbane, which is more than enough energy alongside thistle tea. Outside of that, spam Envenom and just accept that you will run out of energy. There is nothing you can do to not run out of energy. Playing around Envenom uptime also is not relevant anymore, as Twist the knife allows for two stacks at a time, which reduces wasted uptime dramatically. Without twist the knife, wasting uptime is unavoidable.

especially on a bleed build it seems like bleeds are doing all your damage and so it's natural to worry about it, but if you just max out scent of blood, get some improved garrotes out, and press CT, that damage is already there. There's a lot of diminishing returns, rupture being a good example.

If you don't have rupture up, you don't get caustic, you have 3 charges of bone spike, no scent of blood stacks, no energy regen. But as you cast ruptures, you get caustic up, you don't have the charges of bone spike anymore, you're maxed on scent of blood, you're flooded in energy. At that point what good is rupture? Going from having 5-6 ruptures out to having 7-8 ruptures is just a bit of small extra damage, but you could just hit an envenom instead right

• Tuning is nowhere near done and realistically won't be until mid-September; unless you enjoy playing rogue there is no point in you rerolling at this time, we don't bring anything impactful (e.g big aoe stops/party buff) to the group

• PTR sheets and PTR sims are borderline misinformation with how rapidly things are changing and most sims are not currently updated at this time. Again, this will fix itself as we get deeper into the patch and things solidify, but judging a reroll off of PTR tier lists and random sims or seeing one guy pump super hard on a stream is not indicative of anything.
