Broad rules and Section in Guide:

1. If you have to ask, you should play bleed
2. If you're not doing +17's or higher (or rookery), you should play bleed

Some general concepts as to why people play different things:

• Ease of play: Bleed build is simply the easiest to play due to subterfuge/no kingsbane/less need for giant prio targets
• Boss damage: The cleave/zeross build is mainly for boss damage. Assa single target in keys is pretty bad, and the bosses would not be possible otherwise
• Specific Dungeons: Rookery as an example is very boss-heavy, especially the last boss, making bleed less ideal.
• Where the damage is: Bleed spreads out its damage and does great overall due to sudden demise and powerful 3-8 target damage. Hybrid is competitve but doesn't pull ahead until bigger AoE. Cleave is for single target damage and insanely large aoe because of how much caustic and crimson tempest carry aoe damage.

your opener should look something like this

u want to shiv at the start of kingsbane and in the middle of it

right before it ends

kingsbane lasts exactly the duration of 2 shivs

shiv kingsbane ------shiv again when theres 7-8 seconds left on kingsbane

ideally youre fitting about 5-6 gcds in there

however atm, we are not shivving twice on kingsbane outside of deathmark because the dry shiv envenom after deathmark expires hits so hard its a dps plus

i think whispyr has that explanation pinned somewhere

also this is too many combo points for rupture in the opener

you dont have to 7 CP rupture

Morning guys, recently getting back into Assa rogue. I play the bleed build build and my aoe rotation is on point as I'm practicing mouseover macro to spread rupture and garrote, but finding that I'm lacking behind on single target boss damage.
Any tips?
Here's my prio and rotation
Ambush > garrote > rupture > crimson tempest > ambush, ambush > envenom.
Once everything is up I maintain dots as prio.
Question - should I always be prioritising the following?
Keep dots up 100% over envenom and always above 50% energy?
I find myself hitting envenom at times which will take me below 50% energy or sometimes using it over refreshing CT which can drop off for a few seconds. Am I losing valuable DPS by wanting to maintain envenom?

Also I rarely send things at 5 points, always 6 or above, am I being too greedy and should send at 5 to keep energy above 50%?

Since on a few fights having vanish for mark application for target switching can be v useful

That and if you have aoe outside of MA VV will contribute to spatter while MA doesn’t do anything

Prime example is mugzee
