Rupture Sniping
Partly my fault, partly fault of bugs, it's been discovered that rupture sniping is actually really good and giving ~25% more energy than intended in game.
With that, rupture sniping is so back. Sims have not been updated yet, and you probably won't notice anything different when they do update, but the core of the change is that yes, you should be sniping mobs for energy in 1-2 primary target situations (yes that means the rik barrels in melee). Make sure you are <50% energy when the mob dies to avoid overcapping. This can be done regardless of the combo points, since the energy you get back is linear with combo points spent. That's all.
Recap of all the recent changes
- Rupture Snipe is good
- Vicious Venoms/Master Assassin/Fatebound in single target are fluctuating for a lot of people. Make sure to sim yourself, general trend is that Master Assassin/Fatebound will be slightly better in pure single target. Fatebound is not playable on fights with adds.
- Bleed build is very good. Read Wowhead guide, build likes haste so sim yourself, Maintain Crimson Tempest in ST, shiv in aoe for bleed damage, take improved ambush for blindside. Sudden demise is good but passive. Stay above 50% energy for sanguine. Feel free to refresh your bleeds like normal, do not try and cram envenoms as they do a lot less damage. It's equal-better in single target and aoe, equal-better prio, worse in low target cleave compared to hybrid. Yes the single target still sucks, that's just how the spec works
- Sims have gotten a couple of updates to account for setups and bugs and stuff that have been getting found, make sure you sim yourself on LATEST. ALWAYS LATEST.

Question: For Sanguine Blades, do I specifically need to cast Rupture, Garrote, and CT while above 50% energy? Or I always want to stay above 50% energy even after they are applied?
Testing this on target dummy i'm noticing that i'm ticking down 2 energy at a time, so it consumes 2 of my energy every time they tick for damage?

its based on your energy when the tick happens, not what it was when you cast the ability
so yes you have to be above 50% every tick to benefit from it not just when you cast

so technically its the most optimal rotation you can do if youre sitting at target dummies
or a non-moving fight
