While I would prefer it to be done in a different way, im happy that our aoe is in a healthy spot and we have stuff like caustic to be competitive. I like kingsbane as an ability, deathmark feels cool to a number nerd like me, there’s very satisfying burst and darkest night feels great to me, I love crimson tempest, seal fate is a great grounding mechanic of the spec that I deeply enjoy, venomous wounds and the whole push/pull between bleeding for energy in st/cleave/aoe is really cool, even in its currently watered down state. Sudden demise is really sick and I wish there was more of it, same with scent of blood. I love zoldyck and arterial precision as well, they fit great and arterial especially is really chonky especially with tiny toxic blade. I played tiny toxic on brood prog and the shivs were hitting harder than the following envenoms and the spider damage was good, having small things like that is really cool.

There are of course things I’d change and would prefer one way over the other. Do I like kingsbane rng? Not really. Do I like how much of our damage is envenom or how both hero talents are just more envenom and there’s no real choice in how the damage changes? Obviously I don’t like it. Do I want assassinations energy to matter as a core rotational aspect? Yeah I do, I don’t like how energy is thrown to the side of the spec and ignored but then you also still run out of it, it’s super confusing to tell people energy doesn’t matter for shit but then also have them mad that they’re out of it all the time. I don’t want to see a 65apm fill every gcd assassination, but like even that is better than what we have now where it’s neither here nor there, that pisses me off.

But at the end of the day I love the spec, and I think it’s in the best state it’s ever been
