When crushing, it uses 3 gems and 10 ore. If you get a resourcefulness proc on only the ore (that is, not on the gems and not on both), the amount of ore you get back from the proc will reduce the number of gems consumed. So resourcefulness has added unintended benefit for Crushing and has pushed down the relative price of gems because the major use case of gems (crushing) uses far less materials than intended. They even rebalanced prospecting outputs to adjust this ratio and didn't even fix the crushing bug in that change so it really didn't touch a major factor.

You can try it yourself, crush a bunch of gems and watch your gem number and watch for an ore-only reso proc. you will see that your gem stack does not decrease (or only decreases by 1). It doesn't log that you got a proc or that you received the gems in the log, they just don't get used. I noticed it on beta and it's been around the whole time
