The breath/frontal from the first boss in Necrotic Wake is bugged and can go through cloak of shadows despite it doing magic damage.
To prevent this you need to have the first second of cloak up whenever the breath hits you,
in other words cast cloak when his cast has less than a second left, then it will be immuned and you will not take damage.
Sidenote: You can also use evasion to dodge the breath whenever cloak is not ready.

Craft a dagger if you're unlucky and don't get one and are down bad and crying about your pathetic little 580 main hand dagger. Put Ascencion on it

the 2nd charge happens exactly 1minute later, accordingly to lorrgs. so if you delay the KB on the 1st one, you inevitably delay it on the 2nd one as well. So adding all of that together is probably the reason why it's best to make sure KB is applied immediately when the dmg amp starts.
