Indiscriminate Carnage Targetting and Swapping
TLDRMouseovers/Target swapping is optimal on 6 target, or 8+ targets, but not necessarily required

• The 2 Bleeds spread by carnage are smart and will prioritize mobs without the bleed. If everything already has bleeds it'll apply randomly
• You as the character are still casting the bleed against your target like normal, this is why people will sometimes use mouseover macros or swap targets

Swapping targets is situationally better, but can be ignored if you're having difficulties with it. Take 5 mob aoe as an example, your first garrote cast will apply to 3 targets (your target + 2 more). Regardless of if you swap or not, your second cast of garrote will hit your target, and then apply 2 more garrotes, prioritizing the mobs that do not have garrote. In very large aoe pulls (12 or more), a standard opener (garrote-garrote-rupture-rupture-garrote-garrote) will only apply 9 garrotes (3+2+2+2) and 5 ruptures (3+2) if you do not swap, losing you 3 garrotes and a rupture.

It is technically worse, but the situations in which you lose bleeds aren't very common; the lost ruptures/garrotes don't contribute much to your already flooded energy, you don't get additional scent of blood stacks, etc. The loss is purely the extra damage from those bleeds.

Running out of energy in single target is completely normal, intended design of Assassination. You want to be playing for the highest uptime on Envenom, and not blindly spamming away all your energy. Rapid Injection, Sanguine Blades, and Vicious Venoms all play into this gameplay.

• No, haste will not make this feel noticeably better.
• 10% haste only contributes to around 2 actions per minute
• You should be playing for envenom uptime in single target

• For Fatebound, sanguine blades is typically much better than Deathstalker. For this reason, if you can't maintain Envenom uptime anymore, you should build combo points, then reset your energy back to around 70% before maintaining again.
• For Deathstalker, try to stay under 50% as much as possible while maxing out Envenom uptime. Single target builds play vicious venoms instead of sanguine blades as well.

The reason we do this is to maximize uptimes and use energy more efficiently for Deathstalker marks/cooldowns. Staying under 50% leads to more envenom casts, which is more Darkest Night Procs. For Fatebound, heads flips contribute damage regardless of if you're flipping or not, so this pressure to keep spending is lessened.

There are no "recommended stat levels" or "breakpoint of X stat" or "required" amount of any stats. This is an outdated way to think about stats and simply is not relevant to the spec. If you're looking for a quick recommendation: Agi >> Crit = Mastery >= Haste > VersatilityIt's always more accurate to simulate your own character, as stat procs from trinkets/enchants can often de-value their stat relative to others. Stats are not a rigid construct, their values change constantly in relation to each other depending on your character.

• Fatebound will generally want more crit than Deathstalker due to Deal Fate
• Deathstalker prefers more Mastery/Haste due to Darkest Night guaranteeing a crit
• Always Always ALWAYS sim yourself through Top Gear and Droptimizer for accurate results

So been practicing and getting muscle memory going and I am getting better, but the gist of going pull to pull is to try and get a stealth off before you get there so you can ambush (as DT) and then get as many bleeds up asap with the unlimited buff, while hoping moving darkest night as well?

And if bleeds start to drop lets say the pack is taking longer to die, spot add on ruptures and garrotes while making sure to whack the caustic spatter target with envenoms keeping echoing on GCD, while trying to use KB as much as possibel without wasting it and using shiv on it at 8 seconds?

I THINK another reason is that the mark cycle plays a big role on it. trying to pool to much slows down the frequency in which you consume marks/darkest night, which is a bigger deal then simply chaining envenoms. But idk. it's just feeling

wrist/belt are suggested because crafts cap out a lower ilvl than mythic track items, so the loss on primary/secondary stats is less. i don't think you can put dawnthread on rings

Should I always be trying to use finishers on max combo points in AOE pulls? As a new rogue I have found myself getting into the habit of opening and applying bleeds as normal but when I get to the Envenom window I have a tendency to apply caustic spatter, fan and then immediately envenom no matter how many combo points fan generates. Is it better to fan multiple times for max combo points and then envenom or essentially go fan, envenom, fan evenom etc?

we always finish on 5+(5 being the least number and most optimal way to finish in every situation)We only finish on 7 when we wanna apply the deathstalker mark from darkest night proc if we dont have charged combo points to finish on

if u have applied spatter and there is enough density,u fok instead of mut(u only mut to refresh spatter) and finish(envenom) on the target afflicted by spatter

My rogues an alt and its hard to believe it isn't best to make wep first. So, what's going on there? so I've been away from raiding as Assa for... many years. I read that the burst window is very important, but how are you doing on fights like Silken Court, where I had the impression I can never stay on one target for 20s
