Well normally you always start from stealth (normal opener in stealth or from vanish). In your IC window you´ll get 6 ruptures and 6 garrotes up, so plenty of time to get everything rolling + spamming tons of envenoms. If you have no stealth option and 5+ mobs it should take you mb 12 globals to get 5 ruptures up. No need for garrotes in AOE.

Long answer: Subterfuge does literally nothing, as you already have improved garrote and ambush isnt stronger than mutilate. So thats 2 points down the drain for nothing, then you get to the vanish talent, which is effectively just +1 extra cast of vanish

Since youre already using vanish on cooldown anyway

Rogue got a bit of a bad reputation because of poor beta tuning and absolutely no changes to the baseline.
Hero talents, while okay are not very exciting too, Subtlety with trickster is maybe the best of all 3 spec + hero talent combinations
but also has some specific optimizations which don't play well.
