No expert here, but the buffs you can get from it are nice if you’re talking about the cruel dreamcarver! Depending on what enemy you use the ability on, you can get different buffs, such as a rotating damage resistance, or 10% leech while below 50% health. There are plenty of others, and it only changes if you activate the daggers ability. I would recommend looking on WoWhead for different effects, and if you think those would be worth it over a dagger that might sim higher with your current build

Yes and no. Outside of stealth, Mutilate is enough since your free Ambush casts will be triggered by pressing Mutilate anyway.

In Stealth you need Ambush, especially if you plan on playing Deathstalker in TWW, but you may also want to bind Mutilate during stealth too (not required though).

So depending on how your bars are set up, you may still need 2 binds.

(The benefit of using Mutilate over Ambush in very specific situations is super minor though)

Actually, for assa in m+, I don't really think you can feel any stat that much.
Haste for energy? You always have multiple dotted packs, energy overflows. CRIT / mastery / vers (the DMG increase part)? You don't really look at the numbers on your screen other than details. The only stat that can be somewhat felt in m+ in the defensive portion of versatility

I'll be honest, I'm the casual guy, I do m+ for rewards aka +10 portals and myth track items so it can speed up my heroic clears of the current raid. Anything above a 10 does not exist to me because there are no rewards other than ego I guess(?) I do not enjoy m+ that much too. It's a stepping stone for my Aotc.
So I can't speak for all gamers out there :x.
I get Aotc, rival in pvp, dungeon portals and then I spend the rest of the season farming tmog and having fun somehow

Eh I'm mostly the same. I usually push for 3k io and call it good. Too frustrating to go beyond that for, like you said, no reward

One of the things I believe Legion was loved for, was class identity. Lore characters, order halls, Class specific quests. lore weapons. it felt GREAT.

there was also not much done in terms of worldbuilding

looking back to Shadowlands

you had zones themed around covenants, a introduction, systems around them etc...

or Legion

you unlocked your weapon with a quest, had a lot of customizations around it, a unique talent tree on each spec ....

Maybe i will change my mind after leveling, and end up surprised

but i don't think you can relate/connect to hero talents in a similar fashion
