The wording on stuff generally kinda sucks for assassination, zoldyck, mastery, and caustic all have some version of “poison” but function more like “all nature damage”. The 4 piece for example also splashed off of caustic, and envenom works with zoldyck, mastery affects all the things including kb and envenom and the tier

People will play different builds depending on how much they value single target, for most lower keys/general use, shock is gonna be as good as it gets. If you’re hell-bent on single target damage and things last long enough for your kingsbane to full ramp, cleave can be better

yeah so the energy was pretty much meaningless cause it was 60 over 3 sec, and 30% for 20 seconds, every 120 seconds. Math on that is really easy cause it's 1/6 uptime of 1.3x damage, which is 5%. And you can add the kingsbane into that and burst is more important, so with a 3:1 burst ratio (current design is like 2.8:1) you're looking at 15% dps. Taking deathmark out of the current design, you're looking at a 21% loss
