- create sheet, each page of the sheet is dedicated to a dungeon, or raid encounter in that current patch
- each row is an ability, mark them all down
- each column is the defensive in question
- start up your game, warcraftlogs, then /combatlog
- whenever you encounter a mechanic, use one of the defensives
- repeat 5 until your eyes bleed
- afterwards, /combatlog to stop logging, open the freshly minted log
- locate ability cast
- see how much damage it did and how much was mitigated by going through damage taken -> events
- if the mitigation was higher than the baseline when you got hit, or the mitigation is abnormally high in the case of feint, double check to make sure that you don't have a vers proc or other buff at the time
- copy the timestamped log
- add note of that mechanic+defensive combo in the sheet attached hyperlinked to the log showing it works
- repeat 8->12 until the sheet is full

These types of statements typically go over large changes and additions to the game (GRANTED we were talking about details so I was willing to believe that you had went through most of the details such as enemy damage % increases/decreases per key level, dot durations, etc.) instead of the nitty gritty number crunching a phrase like that SHOULD entail. Now, I don't know your history with meaning what you say in the literal sense when it comes to data collection, but if you are implying that you would not say something like that unless it was with utmost scrutiny and totality, then I apologize for doubting you earlier.

And the big mechanics are very easily understood to work or not except in extremely niche situations, simply by playing the game. That's a different situation entirely to the one we were talking about and those aren't jotted anywhere. There are raid tips like https://www.wowhead.com/guide/classes/rogue/assassination/amirdrassil-raid-tips, which covers some of the major points for completely unknowing eyes that are getting to the boss for the first time, like feint on barrelling charge for council, cloak freeing from roots on tindral, etc.

It's optimism. From what I've heard from a huge number of people, drsgonflight is leagues above shadowlands in quality, and purportedly quantity. Iirc there's a lot more active players now than in last xpac. Another issue is demographic and networking. Limiting the requests (from what I've heard in here all I know is that you were trying to get people in the discord to submit findings, though I could have missed where you put it in community forums, reddit, etx.) to just discord probably didn't help too much. I will admit, because not everyone does keys and raid, we also work with a smaller pool of people than the actual whole playerbase.
