- Ilvl drop from jewelry is less impactful because it doesn't have primary stat, only secondaries.
- Crafted rings are closer to their (non-socket) Mythic counterparts because they have a free socket, so it brings the diff even closer. This argument falls away when you get vault sockets or a lucky natural socket on a myth track ring, which personally I'm going to have less access to because I don't raid with a guild, I only pug.
- Our stats are close enough anyways, may as well be able to pick what they are if you care to do so
- I have a max lvl JC and mountains of mats and can craft them for free so convenient for me.

so the big "issue" if you want to call it that, is that things die before kingsbane/dots finish ramping. So the question is how do I get out all of the things I need to get out (rup/gar on everything, kb out, spatter, crimson tempest), without the adds dying.
Different builds try to handle that in different ways, arterial for example handles it by saying "man fuck the kingsbane, we just go bleed". Hybrid tries to handle it by saying "we go DTB, kb ramps faster, less reliance on bleeds, so we can focus on the KB". Eventually though people stopped playing hybrid, and the builds evolved a little. So what was the next step
The next step was "what if we drop CT, now we don't have to build for that". That again speeds things up significantly right. Just make the tier set go brrrr instead of trying to get up CT and letting that tick.
The next step after that was just saying "fuck it we go kingsbane, fuck the scent, fuck the CT, fuck it all, we just garrote -> kb -> win". And that's where we're at now in the meta with the raid build. It doesn't take CT, doesn't take scent, it's just garrote from stealth, rupture, caustic, go

Yes, it does this now. For Sin it's always 4+ it turns green. For Outlaw and Sub it turns blue on Max-1, or Max-2 if you have dance up, which is the rule those specs used (last I checked).
