That is the opener that the rotation addons try to make you do - I’ve tried tested that one and the one that whispyr has posted and they are very very close, but most of the time the one whispyr lists very slightly outperforms it for me. It’s minimal though.

So I do this for the transmog mount, I drag it to my bar, that was perhaps a bad example. I was half asleep and that's what came to mind (though it is still helpful having it pinned). The main reason is new characters, which I create a lot of, and I want to easily be able to grab the transmog mount and the heirloom sub-level 10 mount. I hate that mount, I hate the motorcycle, but I want it pinned to grab easily when I make a new character, which, as I said, I do often. But I don't want it to show up in my random pool either.

Also, having a macro like this lets me have a different mount layout per character. I always use the bear for ground but I like the Kazzara mount on my warrior, slitherdrake on my rogue, Thaldrassis mount for my mage, archmage's disc for my mage for old flying.

so many of the smaller min-maxes

Trying to learn sin, and I'm wondering how to play around sepsis and shiv. I guess we need to boost the final dmg of sepsis with shiv, but sepsis has 10sec while shiv lasts 8sec. Is the play always to sepsis > 1 gcd (most of the time garrote, but I guess sometimes we want to wait before garroting) > shiv ?
Or before sepsis do you keep the 2 charges of shiv to make sure you can sepsis > shiv > ... > shiv ((just before spesis ends)

there's not really any m+ guides for assassination cause it's a terrible spec right now and doesn't see much play, plus the AoE is entirely convoluted. A lot of the rotation in AoE is going to change and simplify in 10.2, so would wait and see for that

the basics is basically just carnage every 45 seconds as long as the mobs aren't about to die in order to spread garrote/rupture for energy, maintain CT on 2+ targets, deathmark your favorite target, and then either spam envenom for poison bomb/prio damage, or spam crimson tempest if the mobs are kinda spread out

Deathmark essentially creates secondary holding buff slots for anything it is meant to duplicate, and will fill those buffs if the debuff is on the target, and is not based on the state of the target when you cast Deathmark.

That is, for the purposes of Deathmark's functionality the order doesn't matter, if you put a bleed up during Deathmark, it will still have a copy of itself, it is not snapshotted when you cast Deathmark. If you cast Improved Garrote during Deathmark, the duplicated Garrote will be improved as well.

If you're asking about opener buttons, #assassination-faq message has some openers to follow, all of which apply bleeds before the Deathmark anyways, so in effect the answer will be bleeds then Deathmark.

guys I have a question about asa, In the first 4 bosses of mythic, I do less dps than my sim and other people with the same gear as me. I checked my rotation but couldn't find any mistakes. Normally my character sims 136k. As for me, I can hit between 119-125k as a maximum. I know that the length of the fights affects me, but I still think my dps is low, what can I do about this?

But some pulls I’ll be sitting between 175-180 till about the 1, 1 and a half minute mark

Most pulls it’ll be 150-160

Then I end killing around 125-130

For pretty much every ST fight

At the start of the fight you have a huge burst, usually with BL and potion.
Can easily reach even points of 400k DPS, but it's divided over time.
later on your damage flattens with some bursts, and at the end maybe a bit higher again with execute and another pot.
Can't keep up high burst damage throughout the fight.

as an example, if at your burst, let's say you're doing 100dps over 1 minute, that's 100 DPS * 60 = 6000
but then over the next 2 minutes you're doing third of it, so 33 DPS * 120 = 3960
over the whole duration it average to (6000 + 3960) / 2 = 4980 which is your final DPS

so to answer, rng is part of it yeah, but you end up lower because you just can't be at top damage at all times.

I find that assa needs quite some time for it to climb the damage meters on a pack (thanks captain obvious, it’s a dot spec), or perhaps I don’t play it the way it should be played.
