KInd of wish we could change talents in the middle of a mythic. Switch back and forth between single target and not-single-target as necessary. Might help a little bit sometimes maybe possibly.

Right, exactly., haha. There are some bosses that summon adds that would challenge talent switching, though. Anyway I am always thinking of ways it might not feel stupid playing assassination. Most of the time I like it, though.

because you would either:

1. need more talent set ups to handle those situations
2. have 1-2 swap and the third go full single target, which now okay who's swapping

on non-add bosses it's very easy, aoe -> single target

but on add bosses

now all of sudden you have to communicate who's going to swap for adds and talent into X or Y

pug groups in shambles

I mean that's also a downside I guess, would be just annoying gameplay wise

but just thematically for m+ it just breaks the fundamental principles

if you could just have everything all the time it wouldn't be a choice

by taking aoe talents you by extension are not taking a single targe talent

you "hurt" the one by speccing into the other

on some classes that's more or less apparent

but conceptually it's true for every class

even the old talent system had that. You had a single target talent in a row and an AoE talent in the same row

run crimson tempest single target and you're losing damage to poison bomb

but don't run crimson tempest in M+ and you're trolling your aoe

we don't talk about that dark time

I guess maybe the middle of the road option, a different meta, is to try and find a regular group that isn't as performance focused or whatever, where it isn't a disaster if an attempt doesn't work. I'm not in one currently but in season 1 was in a group that could succeed up to around m16. Some of that is player learning curve, gear, effects of different affixes, etc. but it was good overall to be pushing without anyone getting real upset.
