recordin yourself is a good idea.
Warcraftlogs is the best option to do so, and can help you look over your rotation easy.
If you can't identify issues, you can also !log and post a log in the thread. One of our experts usually comes back to you in that case when he has time.

It also is quite nice to record yourself and watch back gameplay, if you do so make sure to have your ability use somewhere on the screen via either a addon (trufigcd, detials ability timeline feautre) or a weakaura (gcd history weakaura)

Yeah if you find a top log with a similar build to yours, on same boss with a somewhat similar fight duration, you will be able to take a LOT of useful information about your performance just by comparing it with yours

on a dummy you should be able to get within about 5% if you play "perfectly"

dummy sim will disable all buffs and consumables

Baseline it’s like 0/120/240/360. But iirc ours is pushed 6-7 seconds.

Doing manual sims for every class has kind of killed me so idk anything anymore
