Kinda late but, I did adds for Heroic Dathea really well with a DK in my group to either mass grip or abomb limb. Poison bomb + the Dathea Trinket had me top even over AoE classes so its totally viable if you line up trinket usage or save echoing reprimand for higher poison bomb proc chances

There are a lot more outlaw rogues in high keys, and in general, but there are also some comps that run outlaw + sub in high keys, so they’re not leagues apart

Personally, I find outlaw easier in pugs, you tend to have damage no matter how your tank is pulling, which is nice

3. After putting a few bleeds(garrotes+ruptures+CT) it's better to spam CT or Envenom(for poison bomb) for high AoE dmg? Is there actually any number of opponents where one is stronger than another? (like maintain bleeds and spam CT for 6 or more targets and/or spam Envenom for <6?)

its quite simple, if you press it its gonna charge some of your cp. finishing on any of those charged cp is gonna perform as if it finished on 7cp. Example finishing on 2cp that is charged is gonna act as if you finished on 7cp which is quite strong. After finishing on one of them that specific cp goes back to being normal

Okay let’s run this through a hypothetical conversation right? The tier set increases bleed and poison damage, that means mastery affects a larger portion of your damage, which means mastery is better than it was before.

Now knowing that, if I answer you with “mastery is better with tier”, what exactly are you going to do with that? If the answer to that question is “equip more mastery”, how are you going to do that? You’re going to go into your bags, find some mastery gear, and equip that over what you had on? How do you know that it’s better than what you had? Well, maybe if we put numbers onto it, you can make an even more informed decision.

The tier set makes mastery 20% better than before. Before tier mastery in bis was roughly at a 8:10 ratio with crit, so now it’s about 0.96:1 ratio. Does that help? Are you going to sit there are use pseudo stat weights based on bis lists that I just explained to you to do the math of the dps your gear gives? What if it’s different ilvl’s? Now you gotta try and get agility into the math as well. And even then, it’s based on BiS, not your actual character

So yes, you should sim yourself. There is nothing I can tell you or inform you of when it’s simply not helpful to you. It’s not a cop out, or a lazy response. Clearly I’m here typing this out to explain it to you, so it can’t be that complicated. The issue is your question is legitimately only answered through sims to see if gear you have it better/worse than other gear. And maybe you’ll argue “well it doesn’t have to be that exact”. Okay if it doesn’t have to be that exact, just follow the crit>=mast>haste>vers priority then. You can’t have it both ways to be both precise and have no character-accurate data behind it

I am on my phone in bed now but I do want to thank you for your response. Sometimes I do want to understand why things affect my char and that is hard to get from a sim tbh. With the information youve just told me I can make several informed decisions on enchants/gems/gear to look for in the future. Yes, I do understand that its not a cop out generally but I specifically asked about trying to understand the effects set have and you have explained that now more than faq or any sim did for me wheb I tried my best to seek out the information.

I ofc simmed my char before I asked the question here and understood to some extent that mastery is going to be abit more beneficial but not completely why and how so on my own, call me stupid or w/e.

No problem. And it’s not anything against you obviously, you’re trying to understand the why behind something, even if it has no tangible effect. And that’s noble, I do that shit all the time it’s part of why I am what I am in the community. Writing a 300 word paper on stat ratios every time someone wants to know what enchants to use just ain’t sustainable. I’ve been thinking of ways to have that sort of knowledge in a guide, but it needs to be general enough to not be instantly useless by the next patch, have enough width to encompass a range of questions, and also have the depth for people to take the info and use it meaningfully to analyze data sets and effects logically regardless of the content or item. And that’s….. a very tall order
