the rupture part is tricky with ER because its not always up every 2 mins since its a 45 sec CD and youre using it on CD usually so if you get a ER while DM is up you can totally reapply rupture with the ER version since its stronger

i have shiv on CD and DM off CD. should i have held shiv for deathmark or is this fine and i can just hold deathmark for 5 seconds ?

What do you gain from holding Deathmark for 5 seconds there? Your Deathmark lasts for 16s and Shiv lasts for 8s meaning that even if you got Shiv up 5s later, you would still get the full duration of the Shiv inside the Deathmark window.

You don't need to press them at the same time to get full benefit, you can press Shiv in the middle or towards the end of Deathmark as well
