• Old rule: With Deft, use BF on cooldown at 4+ targets
• New rule: With Deft, use BF on cooldown at 3+ targets

At 3 targets, it is just barely worth to slam Deft on cooldown. At 2 targets, you don't slam it, but it is still worth to talent Deft just for the CPs you get from maintaining BF.

Is Dancing Steel/Deft worth it on Vanguard -> since Vanguard is basically 2.5 targets, as far as I can tell Deft + No Dancing Steel (2 Ace instead) is the best combination, though Dancing Steel is within 0.5%/more comfortable with energy.

Watch your Haste -> Deft at low targets is a fat energy drain so it can end up pushing your optimal haste closer to 25% or more as opposed to the more common 21-23%. On specifically Vanguard you can opt for Flickering Steel again.

Does this make Outlaw good at Vanguard -> No

KIR optimization update

It's the same rule but I want to emphasize and explain it a bit more after playing with it for a while. It's apparent that in keys you can pretty much get away with almost never having to KIR at stage 2 at all if you are chaining pulls well and playing Outlaw correctly.

The optimization now reads like this:

• Using KIR at stage 2 RTB is a simple and consistent rule to generally recommend. However, if you are playing Outlaw correctly, it is possible to optimize KIR so that you only use it at stage 3+ or at stage 2 only if Loaded Dice is unlikely to be active for the next roll.
• An example application of this rule is in the opener. On pull you may start with stage 2, but if you are about to use Preparation, your next roll will certainly have Loaded Dice active so you would wait to KIR until the next roll. Of course, if you opened with stage 3+ RTB, then you would just KIR it immediately.
• In keys, if stage 2 is active and Adrenaline Rush's cooldown has under about 60-90s remaining (about 2-3x the duration of the active RTB buff), you will generally have Loaded Dice back before your current roll expires, and then therefore you can hold KIR until the next roll. Note that you get more cooldown reduction in AoE compared to ST, so you can afford to risk more of AR's remaining cooldown in AoE.
• A second optimization is that if you are currently at stage 2 RTB, and both KIR is ready and Loaded Dice is active, then you should use RTB to reroll your active stage 2 before you KIR.
• Expected gain: ~1-1.5% overall, more in heavy AoE
