Tricks gives you 30 seconds to hit something to start its timer. Once you do that, it's 6 seconds of threat redirection. The trickster talent takes it from 6 seconds to being a semi-permanent 1 hour redirection
Also if you don't hit something in that 30 second window you can just recast it

How is outlaw in raid/m+? Ive been mostly playing sub but I wanted something else for raid
Looks pretty good on paper on wcl for mythic
the problem is that the bulk of it is padding on adds that don't really matter as much as they boost the overall
and then we are actually good on soul hunters
but the last 2 are the most important and outlaw is tremendously bad for them
I figured it was mostly nazhindri forgeweaver and soul hunters
Sub is great on those fights so I would stick with them for that

m+ is fine, some bosses have forced downtime, which sucks, but overall it's not that bad
just look at hc
thats how mythic will look when people will start clearing it as outlaw

if ur perfect at using idol on cd at best times its probably better
It actually feels like an outlaw thing, the flexible cd means it lines up with your stuff whenever you need to use it and so it's basically a burst cd except without the reasons those trinkets historically suck for outlaw

I've been doing nothing but target dumby trying to get withing 10% of my FB unbuffed parse and can't seem to breach it. Past 3 hours on this thing with multiple 10-20min parses and i seem to be stuck at 3.5m (sim is 4.0m). When i try trick (still ST build), i'm within 5% of my parse at 3.3m (sim is 3.5m). I feel like i'm missing something fundamental but can't crack it
Is there something scuffed with our sims rn, im sitting at 16% haste and can recraft my neck from crit/vers to crit/haste or vers/haste and its telling me to not recraft either for ST or dungeon slice even under recommended haste cap

yeah outlaw has kind of been the primary vanish user most of the time
often getting more per cast than the other 2 and many more casts per fight thanks to restless

if i had to guess it's just that people complained REALLY loudly about outlaw hitting dance on the forums
guessing the main issue with dance is you need to time it towards the end of ur gcd with 0.8 gcds
to get the full value
especially if ping works in an unfavorable way
dornogal is super laggy recently and it feels absolute ass to play on low energy in that i situation
it is likely that they removed dance just because it is kind of a core sub ability
it would be like giving the other specs pistol shot

either way I dont think dance was great either on outlaw tbh
Just make outlaw the tank spec and vanish would be gone. 
2 charges of vanish is much more fun for sure
though dance did offer a layer of consistency that I am kind of missing on some fights
or not consistency so much as reliability
I had to remove my BtE + GS macro yesterday after getting enough CDR during subt that it auto sent GS at the end of the window. I didn't think that would ever be an issue, but I got 6 BtE resets back to back I think, and then had to dry send vanish right after. Felt kinda bad.
