Week 7 - Deft Maneuvers Revisited

Updated <t:1744900740:R> - Rules are simplified, mainly based on CPs rather than priority.

As you may know, there is a bug where the 100% bonus BF cast damage from Deft Maneuvers isn't being applied. The 50% crit damage from Trickster doesn't work on BF either.

It turns out this is more impactful than we thought. Raw builder damage is starting outweigh the gain from using Deft, so its priority/rules are changing.

Here's the rundown:

1. KIR 2 FTH can almost consider removing Deft... it can barely lose Dungeon related sims, in a perfect world it can be a small expected loss depending on your pulls. Though it's kinda fake, Deft should still pull ahead in gameplay as it significantly improves variance and helps maintain AR in scenarios where you can't keep full uptime.

2. You should try to use Deft at minimal CP, the simple rule being 2cp or lower. If you don't have AR active or just need energy, then slam it regardless of CPs if you still need to build.

3. If you play HO with Deft for some reason then it has lower priority than Ambush & PS procs.

4. Deft with these rules can be used at 4+ targets instead of 5+ only.

5. If you use Fatebound in keys for some reason, then these priority changes are less important. Nimble Flurry from Trickster is part of the reason the BF cast is less valuable, as we are amping the damage of our other builders (and their resulting BF damage) so much with this tree.

If you still use Deft, KIR gains around ~1.5% dps in AoE from these changes.

For most of you HO players none of this matters cause you didn't use Deft anyway . And KIR gets more things to think about, because of course it would.

@cinder relic hey question about the reccomendation in the wowhead outlaw guide for bracers- why avoidance? Looking at the mitigation stuff in warcraftlogs it really seems like it doesn't actually really do anything. I'm looking at one of my logs and .5% leech is healing for the same as what 3% avoidance prevents. In a key scenario that feels like a ton of damage the healer doesn't have to top you off for too. Maybe I'm looking at it wrong.

A dagger offhand is technically like 0.2% better than a slow weapon because it generates more Instant Poison procs. That is the only difference, Fatal Flourish proc rate is normalized to be unaffected by the change in attack speed. Note that item level or stats will matter more than this quirk, or you can simply use a slow weapon anyway for transmog.
