-+: The waist section of the mog seems a bit cluttered. It's decent, but seen before.

ADVICE:
Simplistic mogs can work and can be nice. However, personally, i would add an eye catcher to the mog. You had that in the form of the thunderfury appearance weapons but since you want to change those, id look for an eye catcher that fits the colour pattern of the mog but adds a lil extra colour/shine/sparkle etc. When I'm looking at the different pieces used (and that you want to keep), I see one colour that's not as present in the mog. The dirt/sand colour from the middle part of the chest piece and the gloves. Using that colour for the boots will tie the pieces together. Which bring me to the Spiked Irontoe Slippers (heroic). Leaving the green weapons behind, I'd change the runelord belt for the miststalker version of the belt. Weapon wise id pick some like the Warmongering Combatant's Choppers. They match the uniform basic look of the mog but add a lil bit of extra colour (eye catcher). Plus you hardly see people use them which in my books is a plus. Although you didn't ask, i'd try to replace the pants with one of the basic looking (green) BfA pants. Why? Because adding some high ress pants will improve the cluttered look in the mid section of the mog. Which one you pick is pure own choice since there are so many similar ones model-wise but with a slightly different colouration.

@carmine lodge ^ This is purely my view on the mog. You can use my advice and come to a different result. The mog above is just an example of what the advice could look like. Let us know what you did!

I'd say model = set, unless it's a remake/redesign of an old set. However, I think the "rule" should be used in a way to "force" people to be more creative with their mog making and less for "telling someone off". Indeed, there is something as a full set rule in most transmog channels/discords but as long as you are happy with your own mog, that's what matters the most. Pointless to argue about it or tell someone's mog is bad based on the rule, if someone is proud/happy with their mog, leave it. Is using the same model pieces with different colours creative? Of course not. But should we tell someone off for doing it anyway? Not really imo. Respect each other's mog choices, try to be constructive, and most of all feel free to share your mog (ideas)! 👍.

ADVICE:

The cleef set with uncanny/dread gladiator alliance BfA pieces with different weapons/helmet/belt. What makes this set great is also what makes this set "bad". There are only a few pieces that will much these pieces, and thus the probability that someone has used these combos before is really high. Don't get me wrong it's a solid mog, probably even more than just solid. Just the fact that I personally have seen it so many times already, makes it hard to appreciate it as much as I should. Advice-wise, the only thing i'd try to improve (if it's even possible) is to find pieces with the same blue gemlike shape as in the back of the chest piece. The best item for that would probably be the belt. That would totally complete this look 👍

Colour wise you aren't that far off imo but if you want to take mogs to a higher level it's important to take shapes of the pieces into account as well. Strip down the mog to it's base. The chest/legs and boots are solid base pieces on which you can add.

Well rogues aren't really known to have a lot of bulky looking items. Plus bulky boots will most likely clip with the kneepads from the legs, so personally I wouldn't advise going the bulky boot route

Funnily enough the castle nathria boots don't clip because of the forward angle they have. So they could be a choice

Like if you are new to mogging, i'd suggest keeping it simple at first and starting simple. Of course this won't win you any mog competitions, but the main focus is that you are improving your skills. Start simple and then start making more complicate looking mogs

If you want to use that set, i'd recommend you use the helmet/chest/legs and work from there. Try to add pieces belonging to the same sets would be the first step

Most importantly, what do you want to keep and what do you want to replace. The weapons aren't the same gold as the doomblade set, the shoulder also have a different tint of gold, the belt has another tint. It's a lot tbh. I would pick a base and work from there.

ADVICE:

Well to be honest, since it's such a unique looking mog, it's hard for me to give general advice. When I'm looking at the mog there isn't really anything that catches my eyes in a way that I think it needs replacement. If there is one thing to pick out, it's probably the glowing eye-patch. I'd replace that eye-patch for a more regular looking eye-patch. Shirt matches the boot style, wrists match the belt, cape and chest are working together, so "technically" there isn't much wrong with the make. I think the only thing decides if it's a good mog or not, is taste.

I actually really like this. Maybe try and find a slightly different pair of shoulders, since the blue smoke coming off of those isn't matched anywhere else. (I know it's not -SUPER- noticeable in game but when you're standing still it does billow up) but overall, I like it quite a bit. And respect on the bloody dancing steel. One of my favorite enchants in the game.

For me a few things needs to change to make this mog work. First of all, i'd change the weapons. Secondly, i'd change the shoulders. You are using the bandit pieces which have this "dirty" white look while your tabard and legs have a more "fresh" white look. To make this work I'd look for shoulders that have the similar white look as the bandit pieces to make the mog more cohesive. Weapon-wise I'd change it all up since those two weapon don't really match the mog and or match each other. Just because they are "cool" looking weapon individually doesn't mean that they instantly work in a mog.

Yup, some people have been speculating about the usefulness of the new legion mage tower appearance. I'm kind of sad about the colour tho since we've gotten sooooooo many pieces with a similar blue tint in SL. It probably will however help a lot of people struggling with the "full set rule" to change a piece here and there to complete their mog.

The only thing why I can see the new pieces being not that popular to mog with are the black circles. Pretty much make them unique, but most of the time unique means hard to mog with

Ah! The Fangs of the Father daggers, how wonderful!.. or are they? Many people have tried, but a lot also have failed to make these daggers work in a mog. See them as the First Satyr shoulders, you can get a mog close to working, but not really. In the mog you are not only trying to make the daggers work but decided to pair them with shoulders that have their own animated effect and glow.

When working with two central pieces, I mostly try to choose one to match and the other to be the focus point of attention. In this case, it's easier to match the shoulders. Furthermore, when creating mogs, imo, it's perfectly fine to have one piece that's the odd one/stands out (if it's intentional). For now, leave the daggers out and try to find a solid mog around the shoulders. Personally, when I look at the shoulders, I don't only see the colour, but I also try to look at the lil details in the shoulders. In this case, I see some draped red cloth on both sides of the shoulders. Immediately I think about the dashing scoundrel set because I know some pieces have red cloth on them. On top of the shoulders I see these glowing stripes which I link to the Multi pocket girdle. Etc.

When working with pieces that you probably just can't find the right matches for, try to make a solid mog without that piece and then add it like the attention stealer. Sometimes it's hard, but sadly not every piece will match well or will just be hard to work with in mogs. In that case, the best you can do is creating a solid well-matching mog that serves as a background for the other piece to shine.

So came up with 2 potential ideas for the fangs of the father

keep in mind they are not the finished product

Using the void touched illusion and a mix of ulduar gear and firelands

OR

Something like the one J.J Secrafyse (mythic antourus stuff with the blackrock foundry belt, ulduar shoulders, a wod pvp glove thing and monk world drop boots, using power torrent illusion to also help mesh the purple in a bit more plus it looks cool when they sinc)

I think in WoD you have 2 tints normal then heroic/mythic and every slot is shared with multiple places to drop throughout all dungeons. Almost every other expansion you have like 2 tints normal then heroic/mythic with multiple drop spots spread throughout all or most dungeons.
