my favorite part is the weapon tokens that drop from nathria; you can only turn in certain tokens on certain classes and each covenant gives certain appearances, so if you want them all you need to constantly swap characters, swap covenants, check your appearance log, swap again

Might be a bit of a lighting issue but on the previous gloves that combo was more present vs the later version. It does add more red to the mog which can also be a plus. Kind of down to personal pref at this point

I would say that you have enough "reds" in the first post to make the mog work. Adding another red does work but it feels like the boot are just a bit left out now. Once again it might be because the lighting is hitting the gloves differently in this position and that the pattern is actually a bit more the same as the boots pattern when looking at the mog from a different angle but thats something only you can find out

Interesting point. Lighting doesn't quite show the different shades of red, the main gripe I had with the gloves was that the small red band didn't match the shoulders, and the shoulders are slightly darker than every other red in the mog. it still fits because they are in the blood shades territory but I feel like they need some other piece to blend in. I tried the dread glad shoulder instead of the warfront one but it feels too "pink" and out of the desired blood red range.
