If you need LFR / Normal appearances:

• buy world pvp gear with bloody tokens, already 4/8 veteran, catalyst the item and then upgrade it to 5/8 veteran, this gives you both LFR and normal mode appearances.

If you need Heroic / Mythic appearances:

• catalyst hero pieces up to 4/6 hero, this will award you with the heroic transmog, and upgrading the item then to 5/6 hero will award you with the mythic appearance.
