you dont need to equip the artifact weapons, just having them unlocked is enough.
and the drop is not guaranteed, took me about 20 runs for each binding.

Unless the mythic raiding criteria is tied to CE, it looks like you can just come back after a few expansions and solo it. The other two are tied to the pvp and pve season.

The forgemaster version was pretty easy to get when they were current because there was always a group up for it. Now probably not or if you know someone with it unlocked, it might br easy. The crimson version is unlocked through renown. The burnished version is unlocked with the mirror network which is pure rng and the green version well dont mind that one haha.

So personally id just farm some venthyr renown, should be no problem.
