i'm trying to be proactive and use feint when i'm targeted but i feel like i just absolutely disintegrate if i get any amount of heat and i'm trying to see what i could do better

trying to be proactive is already a step in the right direction, but something that would be beneficial is paying attention to when the enemy has stuns/offensive CDs ready as well

its quite good in shuffle etc

your defensive use is really going to come down to learning the game as a whole

learning how other classes do damage, how they cc, etc

once you learn that stuff you just kinda know when to use defensives regardless of what class/spec you're playing

we use cloak against magic heavy damage users

evasion against physical damage heavy users

but both also give a 20% damage reduction from a talent that you should be using as well

so at times you can use one or the other against anything, regardless of their damage type

i would really recommend tracking the enemy team's CDs with an addon if you aren't already

and using something like BigDebuffs as well will show you what they are using etc

you just have to learn the icons of every classes major abilities

Your best bet is having a DR tracker for yourself and monitoring your own stun diminishing returns. That way you can see when it's coming off, you faint. Fortunately most classes have 30 second stuns these days, so you can kind of see them coming

I don't really understand how you gain hundreds of rating in solo shuffle and especially in rated BG blitz. Besides your own performance, there's 9 other dudes who can do awesome or awful. My rated BGS tend to go win lose win lose win win lose lose. Just about never 3+ huge wins in a row to climb the ladder.

At least in something like 2v2s you can go into hundreds of games with the same healers and develop together.

It's just that it seems so predictable when the game is likely OUT of your hands, i.e. meaning even when you're one of the stronger players in the round, it doesn't matter. For example, the next solo shuffle round starts and you see that lock on your team that has been your kill target every round and has the lowest dps and no wins and you know you're probably gonna lose. Or you get swapped to the other healer and you're pretty sure you're gonna lose.

step 2a) use LFG to layer hop and get more crates per hour

there's entire 40man raids of people on horde and alliance that fly around looting crates in each zone, with an addon that tries to track the timers

you usually can't get all 6 zones on lock because the shards will change or you'll be on the same shard as the opposite faction raid

but you can typically hold at least 4 zones on lock

Yes poisons do it but you have to keep applying the poison to them

Also shiv slows them down a good bit, but if you’re assa you mainly want to use shiv as a dps CD

But if you’re being kited you can Poison Knife/Fan of Knives to keep applying Crippling Poison to them even if they’re out of melee range
