I agree though, yes a "proving grounds" scenario could come in the future. Same time, dunno how much of an investment (the now much bigger blizz team) would do into it when pve side is the main focus of things clearly. They work on pvp when they can (example War Within new pvp stuff coming as well which is really really nice)

trinketing is a must if you have no defensives that works through stun, your healer is controlled too and sub gets help from other dps

in some situations trinket on bomb

if you are full hp you are not dying in a shadowy duel most likely, but if you arent probably should trinket

obviously shadow blades is a big cd

so be extra careful on that

and never trinket if rogue is not in shadow dance of course xd

Play the long game against that when I fought that as Sub I played the long game. I kept track of where my healer was and if I had too I would step to him defensively. I usually play it patient playing by pillars while they are going you and whether they decide to LOS their healer so you can get their cds or just go back to another target is still a win because during either scenario they are not doing damage. Against the classes you mentioned I seem to find Dk the easiest target and this is true no matter if I play sub or assa. Playing Veil of Midnight is also not bad at times against stuff like that having a second evasion goes a long way and at times. Against the ret war its a little rough but I have killed their healer against that a few times so keep an eye on if healer has trinket or not especially a resto druid I think I have killed rdruids and rshams the most in shuffle. I am super tired so hopefully this was understandable and helps you out and I hope you succeed. @last jasper

With regards to subtlety, will it be better to replace the Hellbloom gear with conquest/life-bound gear after the rest of our gear is filled out? It looks like the main trade-off by going this route is higher vers., ilvl (stam/agi.), etc., but lower mastery. Seems like the trade-off for all better stats, minus mastery may be worth it, but I wasn't sure how detrimental it would be in pvp since we are so reliant on big finishers(i.e. mastery).

For the most part I am replacing my Hellbloom gear for crafted/conquest gear except for the cap. There is a verse mastery cape that has an incredible amount of mastery that I dont see myself replacing

It’s kind of a toss up, between Killing Spree and the small chance to proc more RTB buffs. I’ve been playing with Killing Spree currently, though it doesn’t do a ton of damage anymore

Sub is more about flexibility and adapting to the state of the game. Know your enemy’s defensives, get a feel for their playstyle, adjust accordingly.

There’s a reason sub is complained about loudly. A good sub rogue, like any good pvper, knows how to dumpster a player who isn’t playing well and/or popping their defensives ineffectively. There’s just a lot more control and burst involved and that doesn’t feel good in the receiving end.

You can make 300 dmg on 3 people without cc any of them, so they can have reduction and free healing so these 300 dmg are ‘sort of’ useless

Or you can make 250 dmg on 2 and stun the kill target and cc healer

So they have no reduction and eat full dmg without being healed, this creates kill

Of course if you have a way to out dmg everyone else by 500% you probably would win anyway but that’s not happening

And probably only affl lock is doing some kind of game like this, just pure out dmg everyone and potentially win by healer mana

That basically disable your stealth or sth

It’s also in Warcraft if I am not wrong

Consider it as hunter’s mark plus

You have to use cloak first to clear it

i created a BRILLIANT STRATEGY

it is LITERALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO LOSE WITH IT

at least in my mind

i just need another rogue who will play with me

the strategy is very simple

we sit afk stealthed in the base of the 2v2 arena, enemy will not know what's going and be confused

eventually they will check but we can just sap then grappling hook to the other side of the map which only has a 30 sec cd

from there all we have to do is not get damaged until dampening hits like 60-70%

at which point their healer is useless so it's basically a 2v1

and we have vanish + cloak with pvp talent for full reset every 2 min

it's like playing hide and seek

until the dampening meter hits the point of no return

and they become toast
