For Assa I personally don't think its mandatory. I do also play Nelf on both my main Rogues. I do have Assa builds with it though but my highest rating was achieved without it. My non nelf Rogues probably value Shadow dance more than my Nelf Rogues but not having in my experience hasn't hurt or prevented me from winning. I do really like having Shadowdance as Assa in a RBG setting though all the time

This is 100% a stupid question but are there DR’s on garrote silence? Like can you back to back silence with stealth, meld, dance, vanish to keep a caster silenced for ~12 seconds. And yes, I know this is impractical, just curious if it works this way.

Depends on how you play , thieves is just a great baseline can’t really go wrong with it ideally on your go you’ll have some decent CC so your partner can make up for the -10%

I might run today without it since I’ve got better at resetting just to see if it’s worth it , getting vanish back that much faster is just essential for the long haul especially if you can’t get the kill in the first two go’s

I have a question: I am in the open world, WM off, I also have pvp toggled off. I don't want to pvp. Everyonce in a while I will encounter another player who's name tag looks like this. When that happens, if any of my AOE abilities accidentally proc or anything like that, I get pulled into pvp mode for the next 5 minutes and then I inevitably die because I wasn't planning on being in PVP. I thought the way world pvp worked was that I can't be pulled into it unless I toggle it on, so that this exact scenario doesn't happen. is there any way to stop this? It is enfuriating

Blades enables you to evis every other gcd so the nerf isnt as noticeable, but with blades on cd you can fit at most 2 evis within one tea duration

It’s possible there is some kind of bug with an AoE trinket, but Royal is correct. With WM off you have to physically type /pvp and opt in before you can attack a pvp flagged target

Not to bring this topic back up from way before but to make my situation clear so I can figure out how to fix it, … that was true back in SL but ever since DF any aoe ability of any kind nearby someone else who is in pvp while I am not has auto-turned on my pvp. I have brought this up before and always get the same answer that you just stated basically saying that my experience can’t be true. But that doesn’t help because then I just tell myself “maybe I just don’t remember turning it on” but that that’s impossible becaus so never turn it on because I don’t like pvp so either the game has been bugged since the beginning of DF or that isn’t how it works

Last week I was messing with Sub in 2v2 with my holy pal partner, and doing a bunch with a completely scuffed assassination spec

Last week we ended like, 5-20 lol.

This week I specced properly as Assassination and we went 5-2 so far, much better

We also noticed she skipped an important talent, one that said she gets +1 holy power whenever she casts holy light or flash of light.

We also crafted her 2 embellished pieces, that helped too.

But yeah, TLDR is, playing assassination with Dance, Tea, Resounding Clarity, and Serrated Bone Spike is a lot more buttons but it feels a lot better than taking the passive abilities

I also learned that I absolutely, 100% cannot play sub and my monkey brain is too dumb for that spec

I would live forever, but could not kill anything in arena

That’s because Trill understands that gear wise, there’s little difference these days between pvp and raid damage, perfect uptime not withstanding. Outlaw for instance is running almost the same talent sets as the raid build, and the gearing is the same wanting vers/crit

Just finished first games of arena after returning to the game

21 games, 11 wins 10 losses

most games I recorded

and overwhelming majority of games (like 80% wr) against dps comps we won

against comps with disc priest/holy paladin we had abysslow winrate like 20%

against resto druid/shaman it was also rock bottom, but not that bad

sometimes we could outplay them target switching like 40 times per minute

just baiting their CDs with fake bursts (pressing trinket and nothing else for example)

would prolly not work in higher elos anymore

my teammate was dps windwalker monk

He was french so synergy was naturally good xD

One question about ilvls

If someone has full honor gear which is 476 ilvl iirc in pvp

and they are fighting someone who is full pve gear 476 base

will the pve geared only be at disadvantage because of different trinkets ?

or also because of other things idk

lets say they are full pve same ilvl just pvp trinkets, around similar advantages ? If stat distribution is good

476 pvp and pve gear have the same main stat/stamina and secondary budgets, the only difference will be their secondary stat allocations. With that said almost all pve trinkets are nerfed in pvp and the 2pc pvp trinket bonus is massive so that would matter a lot

yes, their stat priority may not be ideal tho, you generally want some versa in pvp where most specs dont gear for it in pve

pvp gear has the benefit of covering that need without requiring specific pieces

takes like a few hours to get full honor geared tho so really no reason not to do it

although most pve players I know who want to start pvp dont like bg-s only arena or open world pvp

Epic bg-s are cancer at least the draenor one which gets chosen most of the time in my experience

Especially for rogue

trying to get to backline to get picks 20 players will 20v1 you instantly lol

and frontally casters will just AOE burst everyone
