That's basically it. I'm a returning player as well and I also went from playing assn to playing sub so I'm with you.

Basically sub rogue does good burst, but we're more of a utility class with CC's and stuff. In a good solo shuffle I'll typically be 3rd in damage out of the 4 DPS, but I'll still win like 4-5 of the rounds because of the well timed cc and other interrupts

I don't know what a good bg dmg is to be honest.. but all in all it's not really our 'role' to just do hard dmg

Assa looks like a bad version of fury warrior where you have consistent dps but you can't reset that often.
Sub you have way more control and burst potential. If you know how to play sub, I'd advise you to try it

I just dislike playing Dance as Assa. It feels wrong. So the removal of MFD just hurts.
No buff to tankiness at all (besides 2x feint, but losing 4% vers from tree) is just bad. Assa already falls over in a lot of situations, where Outlaw has a bunhc more Hp and now vers, and Sub is basically a non target unless you waste trinket.

I am sure Kingsbane etc will do good damage. But playing a complete glass canon while fun stuff keeps getting removed is a bit meh.
MFD gone, Sap into Blind effectively gone for Assa, since sub has an easier time setting up pre cc to blind into for sap.
I guess with Dance being the go to we no longer have to burn our only vanish for a potential sap which is nice?

All in all Assa changes feel a bit disappointing. Not to mention the reworked Exsang pulling us out of stealth.
Perhaps my hopes were too high, who knows. Some people will definitely make it work, they always do. And it won't be unplayable bad by any means. But I doubt it will feel good to play if you compare it to Sub mainly.

MFD also allowed Assass opener to not be extremely slow compared to the rest of the game.
Dance helps in that regard, but its on twice the cooldown. I know BGs are not really relevent for balancing, but the removal of MFD hurts there too.

For the positive changes, I like the bigger hits for mainly Ambush and Mutilate to a lesser degree.
Kingsbane being a viable option is also very nice. I far prefer that over Deathmark from a "feel" standpoint.
Two charges of feint helps of course.
