Curious. I did some Simming for Assa (I know, not really accurate for pvp) just to compare boots to fang. Fangs did 2.8% total, Boots 5.4. So fangs would be slightly stronger in PvP still by like 0.2% or so judging by the sim. BUt that assumes full uptime

Hey, I'm looking for some advise, i'm a fully geared assasination rogue, with 61% mastary, and 30% versatility. playing 2v2 with a restro-druid, we have no issues with the healing side nor the CC, but I'm struggling to get good damage output, most games sees me doing nearly half the damage as the enemy, no matter the class. Some rules of thumb I always aim for is keeping bleeds up and trying to hit the combo points on echoing reprimand.

That is just Assa being Assa. You can do good numbers if you play like a feral and just keep bleeds up on both. Ideally you Put up bleeds and run to potentially get a restealth for another round of improved garrotes.
However, if you play with an R druid your game play is usually heavily CC oriented and you can't really spread pressure when one of the guys is sitting in clones the entire game. On lower mmr I would recommend just running at the healer and playing hyper aggressive, CC their DPS with roots/clones and train their healer into the ground.

Figures, honestly I don't think there is any holes in my DPS, and was in the understanding it's just the way the spec is... still does insane bleed and poison damage, and most of the time I'm training down the Healers, as R-druid can get off to drink and lot we win the majority of mana games. Most of the time my issues come from getting the kill off, they could be extremely low, and my bleeds are not doing enough to kill. whilst being CC'd into oblivion. Currently we are sat at 1500, but that's not where we want to end the season haha
I am contemplating taking Crimson Tempest for the extra bleed damage, but having to think of another finisher to spend points on is daunting haha

Yeah Assa lacks kill pressure, and RDruid doesn't really help with that compared to Priest or Evoker for example.
I would not play CT in 2s. If you face a cleave in 3s and you wanna rot them down sure. Or in Shuffle just to pump numbers since damp ramps up fast there

Cleave damage in 2's is not something that happens. If I jump on the enemy healer, the dps would jump my healer haha. If DPS also goes for me, cleave could put down some good pressure, but it is very situational

I don't think at 1500 its a "comp" issue, there is usually a lot of stuff you can improve on. That does not mean its the best comp however and you might have more success with a Priest at that rating since it offers more help in getting kills than a Druid
Druid on the other hand offers a lot of CC. If you face a Melee/Healer and you sit on their healer, the DPS is just gonna live in clones and roots the entire game. Which leaves you open to do more damage yourself

Aye, my druid does help with damage, albeit not as much damage being done as a priest, but you're right, the constant CC is beautiful. In all honest, what ever rating we get at the end of the season doesn't matter, as long as we learn from mistakes, just getting past the bummer of losing matches, we want to aim for 1800+ next season

Learning is the most important part. Notice what goes wrong and what you could do better as a player, and as a team, and your rating will go up. I would try to stay away from stuff like "We have no issues with CC" etc. Theres always stuff to improve on, be it on 1500 or 3k. The margains you gain from improving just differ. Keep and open mind and it'll improve.

Assa is a pretty good spec to learn on. Not too complicated in terms of damage output. Issue with it atm is the complete lack of burst to finish something off in a decent timeframe.
It is harder to play well defensively than Sub because it has no CDR/Double vanish obviously.

Correct. Assa can't stay in against other melees (or ranged in most cases).
So its either run and play around DRs and CC, or healer training what I mentioned earlier.
The first is the effective higher end approach, the second is more fun (imo).

like I said it depends what your team is but generally you use your toolkit to peel for example kidneys, poisons, duel maybe, cheap shots³, gouges and the random shiv

Sometimes getting a dummy to chase you far on a restealth leads to a quick sap as well. Timing and patience are really big as a rogue.

It’s more of a sort of support role, good survivability and good kit to help keep your team alive through cc etc. but also has decent dmg now since the buff, just still doesn’t have any “real kill power”

Yday i had 2 of the strangest lobbies, and surprisingly, they both worked really well for my favor
one lobby had a demo, an ele and a boomy, and somehow NOBODY was dying. Like these casters weren't even doing damage and every game lasted over 3mins. I ended up going 5-1 just because my burst became unhealable at the end
second lobby it was 2 rets, 1 mage, 1 warr and 2 prot paladins. It was super easy because the dps always died on the second go due to no healer being present, so i went 4-2
